Adjustable Week 9/3-9/9

Aside a change in razor blade and a different after shave every day, my set-up for the Adjustable week will look like this:

 

Today I used my 62' slim with vintage Williams and Thayer's peach for aftershave.

 

Tuesday:
I used my Slim set @ 9 with a brand new Polsilver Super Iridium.I also got spoiled using the R41,FaTips and Joris,etc,anything less on a Slim doesn't make it for me.However the Futur set on 3 is the sweet spot for me,anything more usually results in a weeper or 2.

I do like Tabac (granted only tried the cream for now but always great results and I like the smell)
So as planned todays shave was
Hot shower
Gillette FB set to 7
Astra SP (D-3)
Tabac cream
Omega synthetic brush.
Soooo soft is this brush lathered very well (first time Id used it with a cream) DFS+, great shave as always with the FB

 

Aww, man! My new-to-me Black Beauty is still somewhere in Minnesota. I hope it gets here this week, so that I can clean it up and use it at least 1 time before the theme is over.

 

Fired up the fifty-nine on four with a Derby. The shave was Cadillac smooth..

 

Loaded up the '62 (my birth year) Slim with a Voskhod blade and locked it in at 6.
Not a bad shave. I've found the Voskhod to be rather picky about what razor it goes into, for me, anyway. I've had some great shave with it, some... meh.
Maybe tomorrow I'll try the same combo set at 7.

 

In my picture in the above post the brush is an H I S synthetic, the bowl is a plastic salsa bowl from wal-mart (I'll break anything else), and an alum block. This is the only adjustable razor I have. Had the C. O. Bigelow cream for a couple of days now and I really like it. Thayers is a great finish (need to get some mbomb to add to it though). Usually use astras but I was feeling a little daring (paid for it... love that alum block).

 

Was a fatboy morning for me. I like it a GREAT deal better than the Slim Adjustable. I'm fairly certain its the combination of short handle and nice heft that it had. Lord have mercy if I get my hands on a progress I may just get rid of everything LOL.

 

Actually, I will make a change in razor this 'Adjustable week' - I have realised that, having not been at the gym for a month means that I have also not used that 'alternate' den which includes a lovely Schick M1 Adjustable Injector. Hence, I will make a change in my set-up while remaining true to this week's theme and include this Injector in the set-up:

 

Another day with the Voskhod blade, today dropped into my late model Super Adjustable.
Had it set at 6 and had a much better shave than yesterday.

Thursday:
Today it was a back to the Futur day.Merkur Futur set @ 3/Red IP (2) very nice shave.

 

Thursday and the Futur was up in the rotation.
I moved the Voskhod blade I've been using this week over into the Futur and dialed it in to 2.5678 (or somewhere there-a-bouts, just a tad above 2-1/2).
Darn near BBS.

 

Ran the 60' on 4 loaded with a Derby this morning. The numbers added up to a super shave

 

Hot shower
59 Fatboy
Rubberset aluminum shave brush with Omega 27mm knot
Astra SP (D-4)
VDH shave soap in vintage cup/mug.
DFS always a good shave from the FB. Th e VDH lathers very quickly and nice shave from it, (a very nice gift from HANZO), I love using the rubberset brush always performes

 

For most of this past week, I've run the Vision, dialed to somewhere in-between the Alphabet and loaded with a Feather blade. Today, I switched to the Schick Adjustable dialed to '5' and loaded with a Schick Customs Golden Swedish Steel Injector blade (quite a mouthful, the name of this blade, isn't it?). Looking back, maybe I should have squezzed in the Futur as well, I would not want it to feel neglected. There's still time for a shave over the weekend, though....
