Alcohol based aftershave and Straight Razors.

I actually like the alcohol base better with a straight shave.

My personal favorite combos for the straight shave these days:

Frasiers cream + Pinaud Clubman Musk = Barbershop perfection

DR Harris Lavender soap + DR Harris Sandalwood AS = Heaven

 

Ill have to give that combo a try.

 

Fraser + Velva musk = Next week's shave!

 

Arko Commando and Pinaud Clubman. T&H Grafton and Italian Floid, too.

 

What do WWR, CWR, and ABAS stand for?

Okay, I know I'm a little late getting in on this one, but I shave with a straght daily, and my preferred aftershave is straight up rum. I make my own bay rum using dark rum, bay leaves, and a few other ingredients.

I get a little burn from it if I go for a true BBS, but otherwise no problems.
I know of straight users who use rubbing alcohol as their aftershave...
Once you get your technique down, there should be little or no irritation from a straight shave.

Been at it for a while and I am back to taking a bath in the velva after a straight shave. Matter of fact I just did it about an hour ago.

Turns out ya'll were right, I was a shaving way too close.
