Thanks. And all very true. I had fun, and spent time with people I like. My near-term goal is to be able to get above 240 consistently. When I can do that, I will worry about out-shooting 8 year-olds.

Agree I did achery for a few years in elementary and middle school, gave the rifle a break. I have been meaning to get back in to it but feel its been way to long and it would be pricey also. Recurve is good for kids to start with then they can move to compound.
I've dented a few shafts and killed some fletchings too but use feather so they sometimes stand up better. The expense of tight groupings...
Today we had a trainer over of the Dutch national archery union. He gave us all some nice pointers to improve our shooting. This time the club paid for that, but if the members are willing to contribute to the costs, we can ask him to come over some more times!
I hope so as well! Since I've changed from recurve to longbow the arrows fly everywhere except the target...
