I didn't forget. Here's the fluffy alien target: Oops. Wrong pic... Here goes: He's already been shot at (tail, arm, lower lip, left tooth, belly button!). No wonder he looks grumpy!
Imagine how HIS SON must feel! Psst... Mike, probably best not to tell others when you use the kid for target practice. Just sayin'.
A couple pics of my bow. The first is from the unboxing, I was super excited. The other two are from the other day, I was doing a little tuning and decided to snap a pic! Hope you all like the pics! Archery is one of my favorite past times, besides shaving of course
Basil, that is some nice gear! I took a trip to Lancaster Archery (in PA) today. It is a nice, big store with both indoor outdoor ranges on site. I bought some goodies and got to shoot outdoors, for the first time. All of my arrows hit the target, which is pretty good, considering it was a bit windy and just starting to rain.
If I lived near Lancaster I'd be in some serious trouble with the wife lol. It's where I bought all my gear from. They have great stuff and so many great sales going on.
Good service strikes again. My bow accidentally came unstrung. This is not something I can fix by myself. So I went back to the store where I bought it, to get it fixed. They had to disassemble & reassemble it, to get everything properly alined. This took about 1/2 hour. This is the conversation that followed; Me; How much for the repair? Manager: Did you buy the bow here? Me: Yes. (He did not ask me to verify this, though I had the receipt with me.) Manager: No charge. If you ever need a bow & live in or near New Jersey, I can recommend a shop.
I got back to the range yesterday. I did some shooting @ 10 yards to get the feel of it, again. Fun, but the most time I've spent on my feet, since the knee surgery. I can't believe how tired I was, after.
Greta to hear you're shooting again! You know you can shoot from a sitting position? I know a few disabled people who shoot directly from their wheelchair. Ask someone to put a chair on the shooting line & please to fetch your arrows after shooting (perhaps your hubby?)
Actually, the little bit of walking is good for me. Today, we are going to get a bow for my husband. Pics, when we have it.
I've been barebow shooting outside yesterday First at about 33 feet / 10 m, then at 165 feet / 50 m. Some hits, some near misses, loads of fun!
