I have bow hunted most of my life, began with an old Bear Kodiak recurve my father gave me. Nowadays I use a compound bow. When I lived in North Carolina a buddy got me into 3D archery Tournaments. I really enjoyed those.
Archery is something I've always wanted to pick up. My father won many awards in his day but has never shot since I've been around. I'd like to start out now but I live in a suburban area and would only get a chance to really get some time in by going to my parents' place about two hours away. Mainly, I don't know where to start. How much should I expect to invest to get going?
First, find a place that gives lessons and rents or lends equipment. Then see how you like it, before buying anything.
Only had a Lil Sioux bow (15lb draw weight) when I was 12. My mom threw it away because she thought it was too dangerous (city-dweller ). I'd like to try my hand at Japanese archery. No idea where I could go...
