Now that the tax season rush has passed, I have to get busy and catch up on all the work pushed aside. Great 2 pass shave this morning with very little clean up. Having used the Mongoose so much since the start of the year, consistently good shaves are the norm. Hope everyone has a great day.

    April 16, 2015 - Week 3 Day 5
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - VDH Boar
    Soap - Proraso
    Razor - 1959 Superspeed
    Blade - bic-5-chrome-platinum.jpg (2)
    Post - Alum, Proraso

Early meeting this morning at work so I passed on the CJB. '59 SS and Bic did a very nice job. Three passes and I found the baby. I'm impressed with this blade. I called it a second day for it since I have used it on third pass only on two occasions after the CJB. Gotta run!

April 16th , SOTD (Shave 7 of the focus)
    Two days’ growth
    Prep: Hot Shower
Razor: Feather Artist Club SS kamasori
Blade: Kai Captian Titan w/ blade guard (2nd shave on blade)
Razor: Gillette Red Tip- B2 (1956)
DE Blade: Big Ben- Stropped 30 times per edge (4th shave on blade)
Soap: The Shave Den Barber Shoppe Scent, bowl lathered plus four drops of M-Bomb
Brush: Tulip Wood Brush- TGN Best Badger Knot 22mm x 54mm loft
Post Shave: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Block
    Aftershave: Iced Pinaud Clubman
    IMG_1265.JPG

Great shave today. 95% of my face and neck are BBS, with the trouble spots on my neck DFS. The Kai blade makes the Feather a much more comfortable and smooth razor to use. Did two passes (N/S and S/N) and only needed a little touch up on the neck. Some burn on the alum, but no nicks or weepers. Finally finished my sample of TSD soap. Seriously, between 15 and 20 shaves from the sample! I am getting to like the way the badger brush splays on my neck and face when working the lather in, then paints it on pretty thick afterwards. Still have a boar preference, but I could get used to this.

My big experiment today was the aftershave. I added 10 drops of M-Bomb from TSD to a half ounce of Clubman. It did change the scent when it was first applied, but I had a good menthol burn/cooling, but after the menthol faded the Clubman goodness stuck around.

Busy getting my friend all settled in! Great trip so far!

Day one, blade 2, Ball-end Gold Tech

A great vintage blade in the 53 Tech for some of the automatic 2 pass smoothness! Used Arko as a stick and was very impressed. The vintage blades paired perfectly with the razor and the lemon goodness delivered as always! I hope to get more caught up later!

    Have a great Thursday!

    Homemade Pre-Shave Oil.
    Razor: Bluebeards Revenge
    Blade: Wilkinson Black
Brush: WD Marble Handle Silvertip, 24/67
The Shave Den Lanoline Shaving Soap- Coconut
A/S: The Shave Den Aftershave Splash

Day 13- Got my order in from TSD and had to try them out. Very happy with both products. I like it when products leave some room at the top of their soap so everything doesn't run all over the side.
7th day for the Wilkinson Black blade and it didn't make it through the shave. Started to tug and just didn't feel right, and was distracting me from my pleasure. Stopped and opened Doug's Den and realized I had enough blades to do me and my family for about 10 years. I changed the blade. Everything improved from that moment forward.

How has the PSO been working for you? What recipe did you come up with?

PSO has been working great. The only difference in my PSO is liquid lanolin. Did you make any changes?

I haven't made any changes yet. I made a double batch when I did it, and I am probably about half way through. When I run one of my containers out I will make some more. I like the idea of liquid Lanolin. Where did you find it?

After a week of coaching I finally have time to get a proper update posted. I have been shaving with the Eversharp for five days and tonight will be my last night....

Overall- continuing to really enjoy the injectors. I have gone through most of my soaps and creams. All work well and the shaves are BBS or near so in all cases.

Specific to the Eversharp- This one shaves like the j1, but even lighter and the handle is smaller. Both of these are minor negatives for me. So far I prefer the M39, even though the only real difference between the three is grip comfort.

I will be working with the M2 Adjustable for the rest of April. I am really looking forward to opening up the blade gap and seeing what these things can really do.

Have a great shave and wonderful evening gentlemen!

Got it a health food shop. They sell vitamins, fish oil and stuff like that. They also had scents and that is where I found the lanolin. I got it because I forgot my list and couldn't remember which oil I was supposed to get.

Another great shave tonight. This is day 6 for the Lord platinum blade. I thought it left the neck a little rough tonight, but that could also have been me. I will try it again tomorrow, and see what the result is. I am curious to see if my gentle result is due to the arko, or better technique. I guess I will have to try the injectors with the arko, to see if I get better results than I have had in the past. Did I mention that I really like ARKO?

All the stars aligned today for a fantastic work morning shave, very near a BBS. Since this is my first use of a B&M soap, I skipped any prep except for my morning shower. After blooming the soap, I whipped up a fantastic lather. Having noted that the soap could be thirsty, I added water to the brush as I face lathered. This is one seriously slick soap. In fact there was enough residual slickness to clean up the trouble areas with just water. The post shave feel was great and ended with just a splash of Witch Hazel followed by Myrsol F/Extra. Happy Friday everyone.

    April 17, 2015 - Week 3 Day 6
Prep - Hot shower and towel
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
    Soap - Arko
    Razor - CJB
    Blade - kai-captain-titan-protouch-bladesmall.jpg (6)
    Post - Alum, Clubman

Kamisori style again with the CJB. One hand, one side of the blade only. A couple of minor nicks on the left cheek and next to the goatee line while positioning my hand right. Otherwise a very decent shave. Due to time constraints I finished the last pass with the SS and Bic and finished DFS. All in all a good morning with the CJB.
