Yeah, its a different kind of scent. The first time I used it, my wife liked it. I was on the fence, but with her saying she didn't like it, I am sending it to a new home.

Congrats Eric. You're off to a great start with your straight! It is a beauty!

Clint, I like your new brush. It will be fun to see how it performs for you. I'm sure it will be great. :happy088:

Yikes- I have not touched canned goo since I started wet shaving. After reading your post I may never again.

You need to buy a 12 pack of Arko, and place a stick in your car and every travel bag you own...

I appear to be alergic to Arko, so that won't work either. It burns when I put it on my skin. My next order from The Shave Den is going to have a stick of soap in it though. Right now I have a mug full of the scraps of multiple soaps that is going to be my travel go to.

As long as you are covered than I am glad for you. This seemed like the equivalent of sticking your hand in a flame. You are probably not going to forget the soap again anytime soon...

Hang in there! It happens to me too, particularly when I don't take my time. I enjoy seeing your cool photos and following your progress with the FB. I hope to add one to my rotation at some point.

Adam, I enjoy reading about the progress with your straight razor. I think you are doing quite well for just getting started with it. I also find it tough to pack the right things when I travel, but it looks like you managed OK.

I smiled when I read about you and your Bride. I could have written almost the same thing. When I finish my shave, I say
this in a very loud voice from the bathroom. I am living proof that love IS blind. :D

I tried the canned goo one time with a DE and a Feather blade. It was not a good idea. :shocked003: I'm comin' around on the Arko. It has treated me very well this month, and I don't notice the scent too much. I'm sure it will become a staple in my den.

Gasp! You are going to the Darkside? They don't even have cookies, just lemon scented sticks of weirdness...

On the darkside, wetshavers also prefer naugahyde over leather strops by a 10 to 1 margin. :angry019: :p

Here's everything I brought to the shootin' match this morning. Not pretty, but very effective. Two passes plus touch-ups yielded a near BBS shave.

Wouldn't guns have been more effective at the shootin match?

Thanks. This entire morning was one of those where everything was just not quite right. I am really glad I have decided to work on the FB, as I have come to love shaving with it. I was considering parting ways with it before this, now I don't think I will.

I just had my 5th shave today w/Schick Injector Blade in my G1. So far all 5 shaves have been excellent. I'm hoping to get 10 shaves out of the blade too.

You just might. I'm really hard on blades and got seven. By far the most I've gotten out of any blade
