Does Arko Cool SC count? I am on a SWMBO imposed NB16, so acquisition won't happen for me. ;)

Been meaning to ask you: what's to consensus around St Louis about Stephen Piscotty? My dad used to work with his dad and got to meet him last year. He has started to turn my son into a Piscotty fan already.

Over the winter the consensus was he might be valuable in a trade. However, that seemed a bit short sighted. Cards fans tend to get paranoid about pitching and see a lot of the younger guys as trade bait. Honestly? The last half of 2015 was a great run for Piscotty and most of us think he has the potential to be a truly great player. He's got the arm to gun down runners from the outfield and his bat and base running is usually excellent. So far this season (yes 2 games in....it's time to panic in the Lou) there are a lot of people panicking about him, but he's not the only one. Most of the younger players have people nervous. Piscotty is the one, though, that probably has the stuff to have a great career. Oh, and he has shown a lot of class as well, so not a bad role model at all.

The Cards come to Houston in August, and I am planning on attending one of their games. I am more excited about the start of baseball this year than I have in several years. I am definitely going to make it to a couple of Astros games.

Attack Angle April; Peer Pressure Edition

No reason to wait til end of the month, I'll succumb early. :)
Still cool here in SoWeLa, so I'm enjoying a hot towel before the preshave oil. Arko is shaping up to be Soap of the Month, but I added a dollop of C.O.Bigelow. Super Lather is an interesting concept. I'm not done trying every creme with all my soaps. The next part of this group shave project being a Derby in a Tech was easy. The combo made possible by @Redrock 's PIF of Derby blades, top and base plate from a local antique shop, and a heavy tech handle that Ebay'd with a no-name Frankenrazor OC head. All seen thru a magnifying mirror as per @Rufus T. in an attempt to scrutinize my Angle of Attack. All that technique, software, & hardware combined for as close as I ever get to BBS. Alum block gave a near silent squeek, still working the corners of my jaw to irratation, but a dab of Cremo Moisturizer calmed the burn. Double splash of The Veg to celebrate a DFS+ brought to me by Preemptive Peer Pressure Arko/Tech/Derby/Veg 30th!

Well the AL Astros are certainly not the NL Astros from the past. They can find the field now and know which end of the bat to hold!!

The new owner does seem to be willing to pay players a bit more, so they may be able to hang on to something of these guys. I loosely root for them, but I am really a Dodgers fan, and I still have memories of the Astros in the NL West, so some times I revert and root against just to root against.

I had a great start to my day this morning. I don't use this soap too often, and I am not sure why. It has a pleasant scent, and does provide some nice slickness. I really enjoy using this razor, and it just keeps impressing me. It was a very comfortable one pass plus clean up for a DFS. I topped it off with some Florida Water and I am fully ready for this Hump Day. Hope everyone has a good one.

    Russian blade focus

    Prep: Warm shower
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (SuperEdge)
Razor: Old Type head on replated Hibco handle
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
    Lather: Country Club Cahaba Blues
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

    Cold Water.jpg

Better shave than yesterday with this same combination. The Gillette Yellow blade was a little smoother today. Still got a weeper or two on my chin area probably from too much pressure. But I'm pretty smooth with just one pass and touch-up.

The Cahaba Blues soap again performed brilliantly. It's really a great product. The Satin Tip brush also never disappoints.

I'll be working through some Russian blades this month. The 7 O'Clock yellows are pretty sharp. The jury is still out on that blade for me. I think there are some others that are smoother and that work better for me, mainly Rapira. But that's why I'm working my way through them!

Hope you all have a great day!

With the change of the blade from the Kai Mild to the Feather Pro this morning, the efficiency of the Cobra Classic improved. However, I did get a get a couple of weepers due to operator error. Overall the 2 pass shave with touch ups provided a near BBS work morning shave. Finished up with a splash of Fine L'Orange. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Quick early morning shave this morning as I had to head to the airport. I'm still not much of a fan of MWF. Too much work to get a nice lather. I'm spoiled by Route 66

I'm skipping a shave today to let my face heal from the butchery of the Feather ProLight. Back tomorrow with the Feather Pro.

I actually get my best shaves from the Feather Pro Super. I'm interested to see what you think. Have fun.

I'm most fond of the Kai Mild so far. Its sharp but not scary. The Kai regular was slightly scarier but still comfortable. With practice I think I would learn to like it more. I really don't like the guard blades from either company. I'm excited to try the 2 remaining Feathers, the Canadian Kamisori, and the Dorco Barber's Blade.

Don't get too excited about the Canadian. My opinion, anyway. I was hoping it would be great since it's a bit less pricey. Not for me though.
