Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick G5
    Brush: Stirling Kong
    Soap: Soap Commander 13A▲
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill aftershave

One pass shave today. Normally don't shave on one of the weekend days but we have lunch plans with some out-of-town friends and then we're off to see some houses, so I needed to look presentable. Wonderful lather from this limited edition Soap Commander tub. By the way, if you are a Facebook person and are looking for a low key and fun shaving group, the Dirty South Shavers is a wonderful group. This soap is from their meet-up last September. The group collaborated and created the scent at the meet-up. Pretty neat.

    Enjoy your day!

Thanks Perry. The teaching is very rewarding. 19 students in two days. My friend has started chemo and has a great attitude, but is noticeably weaker. Thanks for asking.

So...in trying to keep up with the thread to keep me busy, when I can't focus on other things at hand....saw the few comments about 40 pages in about James Bond. Been a Bond fan as long as I can remember. Watched the movies almost constantly when available on Netflix or Prime. My awesome bride, just this past Christmas, purchased the entire film library on Blu-Ray as one of my gifts. Of course Sir Sean Connery is the ultimate Bond. But....I think we'd be much in the same place, if Daniel Craig had been in that era of movies. Both of those actors have exactly the right 'swagger' if you will. The whole package of the character you'd think about. Roger Moore a not so close third.

And to keep it semi shave related. First time ever using Arko this morning (the enablers y'all are.....:D) I received it Friday. Lathers almost too easily. Not sure it'll make it into my top 5 rotation, but it will be in rotation. The more I'm exposed to the various brands....many are similar in performance overall. My top 5 will be based on the aromas I like.

Blade samplers for newbies....I'm a prime example. Got caught up in that. I do believe it is technique technique technique. Technique trumps tools. However....at some point, technique is acquired, much like a great pianist or percussionist, then you choose the tools to further the technique to it's highest level (like the golfer reference of swinging, would then start looking at various gloves/shoes/balls to further accuracy/distance). I grew up a percussionist (still have sticks and pads). The techniques I've learned since 5th grade and continually worked on through high school drum corps and solo state competitions are still there, but have always chosen the tools (sticks, drum heads, etc) that work without hindering performance/technique. In my mind, it's a combination of both, or a circle, technique drives the tools chosen.

Private voice lessons, I assume? 19 in two days is a heavy load! Glad it's going well for you and that your friend's attitude is positive. That goes a long way.

20190407_095419.jpg In keeping with my shavette weekend focus I left the Weck junior in the drawer and brought out the Dovo with the green insert. I removed the blade from the Weck that cut me last weekend and put some training wheels on it on run it in the Dovo this morning. The longer blade takes getting used as I am used to the half DE blades in it. Overall it was a nice shave with no blood loss. Alum was warm. Finished up with some Nivea and Clubman bay rum. Y'all have a great Sunday.
