It's yours, my friend. I figured a red-line tach would be appropriate for May. :)

That's very cool, Jeff. Enjoy your Pappy's in good health, my friend!

Blanton's uses a higher rye mash bill, and Pappy's is made from a wheated mash bill. I just finished a bottle of Blanton's. I can pick 'em up here if I'm willing to visit Buffalo Trace on the day they place them out for sale in the gift shop. They usually sell out in a day or two. I also like Maker's. Being a wheated bourbon, it's a little sweeter. My favorite all-arounder, though, is Four Roses Single Barrel. It's a mid-priced single barrel that's good for drinking neat or mixing. I agree with you on Knob Creek and Elijah Craig. I don't care for either one. I don't think I'll re-buy the Russell's Reserve SB, either. It's has more of a bite than I like.

Full disclosure...I get a kick of out of the history and the manufacturing methods used by these old distilleries more than anything. I love to hear the stories about how the various brands came to be. I'm a very occasional bourbon sipper, and my Bride is always around when I partake.

    Shavette Shave #53

    Gear
    • Razor: Max Headroom Focus R21 Shavette
    • Blade: Derby Premium (2)
    • Brush: Semogue Boar
    • Soap: Stirling Texas on Fire (6 Frost Drops)--I added the Frost Drops to the soap and began lathering. I think this method dissipates the FD because they weren’t nearly as cool as they have been, In the future, I think I’ll add them last
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Clubman Original (2 Frost Drops--very cool!)
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave...
Not nearly as much blood as yesterday, but a few scrapes and a weeper on the neck that I think was a holdover from yesterday. Decided on another 3 passes again: WTG, WTG/XTG, and ATG/XTG. I don’t have the small irritation that I got yesterday, but it was a close thing. I’m discovering that familiarity with the process leads to increased pressure if I’m not on my game, and I had to stop and remind myself several times--especially during that last pass.

I’m BBS on the cheeks and most of the upper lip, DFS on most of the chin and neck, and CCS on the southern tip of the chin and in the hollows of my neck on either side of the Adam’s apple. Chasing beyond that point just didn’t seem wise, and I’m certainly okay with those results if they keep irritation at bay ;)

Tuesday already! Hump day tomorrow, then we’ll blink our eyes and it will be Friday :D

    53 down, 47 to go!

Thanks Gary. We all stand in awe of your esteemed Gillette collection, sir. That comment would be more descriptive of my Gillettes than anyone. One is re-coated, and most of them are missing original containers. They'll still last a few more generations, though.
Thanks Clint. Feelin' a bit goofy. What else is new?
Well, Jim, I have to come up with something to post. I don't have a big rotation, and the colors or scents never seem to match. ;) I did position my gear in front of window, but it still didn't come out looking like a jluc production. :)
Thanks Tim. I've alerted security in case she shows up for the press availability. Hopefully, she won't be able to make any sense out of the GMT time references. I bet she won't bring her own beer, either. :happy097:

Thank you, Jim. I do like to have fun, I do go overboard, and you all are kind enough to put up with me.

I think your posts are top-notch. If I was in the market for new gear, your photos, descriptions, and reviews would place me in bankruptcy.

I hope your day is going well. I read yesterday where my former employer reported a fatality. That is beyond tragic. From my experience, most accidents occurred during maintenance activities and often during atypical times. I would bet that pretty much describes every one of your work days in the past few weeks. Be extra safe, my friend. Praying for you and your work team right now. :)
