Lovely shave report, Tim! Those Frost Drops are ok, but about only 50% as cooling as M-Bomb. Dr. Jeff prescribes 12 drops for the ultimate in refreshment. Make sure you tell the paramedics that it’s menthol when they arrive following your SWMBOs call! :p

Gorgeous gold Tech, Gary! Have you ever shaved with the Star DE. It was developed to compete with the Tech, and is, I think, a better shaver! YMMV

Thank you, Joe. There's great benefit in getting outside as much as possible, and I know you're taking precautions. We do the same thing. We've been out today scoping out the backyard. My Bride is leading a new landscaping project and bringing me along as necessary. :)

I'm glad you got to see the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds. It's inspiring to see them fly, and I hope they eventually make it to Kentucky as part of the plan to fly together across the US. I'm especially glad they're starting out up your way, though.

We stay just across the bay from the Pensacola NAS, and the Blue Angels sometimes buzz over the beach at different times. We've also been to the Nellis AFB where the Thunderbirds are headquartered. I am amazed anytime I see them. TBH, though, it is rather unsettling seeing military jets fly over the Nevada desert. Sadly, it looks too much like wartime.

Praying for your protection also, my friend!

Another gorgeous image, Jim! I knew you’d eventually get things dialed in on the Hawk, after all, you have to clear the deck for the new Tradere! :D

thank you Jeff, haven't tried one but my first instinct says why aren't they still around.but realistically i have better gillettes than my techs so it's covered.new rfb, rocket hd,red tip rocket are all far more efficient than a tech.i enjoy them all for what they accomplish.:)..

Thanks, Blair! The Monobilt is a surprisingly good shaver.

Thank you, Jeff. I appreciate the recommendations! A 51% corn mash bill would indeed be very smooth. I haven't yet tried a rye that I like, but I am open to trying new offerings. A whiskey tasting club sounds like fun. A buddy and I make a point to visit different distilleries through the summer. We also attended a 'world of whiskey' tasting course once. That's been our version of a tasting club.

Most importantly, we're both fortunate to have Brides that are smarter than us and who watch over us.

They aren’t around because they just weren’t as well capitalized as the big G. Regardless, you’re spot on, Gillette made many razors that outshave the Tech, the ‘everyman’ razor!

We’re in agreement, Joseph! The Single Ring is a great shaver! I hope your day went well, and that Mrs. Dr. Primo is staying healthy in these trying times!

. Lovely pic and great shave! I'm envious of your mastery of my ‘nemesis’ razor. I just can’t shave with those pivoting head razors. Hope you had a good day that was not too tiring.

i have a soft spot for old techs, and i can use these daily without issues.there is enough growth for the next days shave.same as brit new rfb's.but if i tried to use a red tip daily i could have issues..:).i like to pick the right tool for the job at hand..part of the fun..:)..

Thank you, Joseph! I actually led a team of Public Information Officers as part of my job enrichment for a few years, but I was never able to let the "inner Charlie" shine. I had this thing about getting a steady paycheck... I was trained to give one of the two following answers to a question about an incident: (1) the incident is under control, or (2) we're bringing the incident under control. I hope never to have to provide a shavette incident report, but I am nonetheless prepared should the opportunity arise. :)
You're making good progress, Bill. As of 01 May, I'm promoting you to Level 2 Troublemaker.
Thanks Blair. I'd like to say that I had a lapse in judgment, but I'm fairly sure my judgement has always been poor. :happy102: I'm actually quite happy with my shavette skills. I won't win any races, but if I can do it, anyone can. Starting today, I decided to limit my shaves to two passes with no touch-ups. That will encourage me to make the best decisions with each razor stroke and hopefully allow me to continue improving my technique. I rely too much on touch-ups to cover for a less-than-ideal technique.

Gary, I shaved with the same razor for 50+ yrs, and then ended up here, developed a bad case of RAD, and the rest is history, although I’ve learned an enormous amount about the hobby here and elsewhere. I was sitting around bemoaning my old man aches and pains until I discovered 30DC. it’s been great! The people are fun, and it gives this retiree something to do each day!

    Thank you, Jeff!
I'm anxious to get the Tradere. Sadly it's four to six weeks out. It's been almost a week since I've had a new razor show up in the mail. I'm starting to get the shakes.
