Personally, I find that using different razors improves your technique and gives you the confidence and ability to shave with any razor. However, I am not saying it is wrong to shave with one type of razor, but variety is the spice of life. Have a nice day Myles!

Welcome to a new month already. My approach will be Anything Goes April. I plan on using whatever strikes my mood at the time. I felt like some serious scrub while face lathering today and the Shavemac Flat Top certainly has scrub in spades. The brush was a joy face lathering. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Early morning shave today, I've decided to bring this shave lineup with me while I'm down in Florida next week.
Go an excellent lather and slickness which provided some excellent blade glide. Smelling nice and fresh with some lime added. This week seems to have flown by very fast, but today feels like a Friday for me. Have a great day. IMG_0755.JPG

    Cella soap and aftershave splash

It is hard to believe that we are in the 4th month of 2021. I did not know what to shave with this morning so I put this together at the last minute. It is hard to choose when there are so many toys in the sand box.

#011 whipped up the Cella this morning with ease and was looking purdy while doing so.

The ATT setup was great for three smooth passes. I'd call this one an almost BBS.....close but not quite.

A little witch hazel and Cella splash and this one is on the bag.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday.

This morning's shave was the first of 8 straight "Throwback Thursday" shaves(going through April 8, which of course IS "Throwback Thursday"). Today was a simple Clubman Shave Cream&Clubman Original A.S. I shook the bottle and held it under the warm/hot tap water as the sink was filling up. I didn't quite like the sound of the bottle when I squeezed out some cream into my hand for face&neck application. Made me think I have less in there than I thought originally. The shave was going well until I felt a tiny Knick at NW Porcupine, going South-to-North in that area. I'd better consider North-to-South for future shaves there. While I was generally pleased with the results of Cactus, I do need to focus a bit more on the NE side, near where the ingrown hairs are. If I don't, the ingrown area will increase-seems so anyway. This shave comes in at Most Excellent. Throwback Week is ON!

Joseph, where do you think you had a spelling error? (From a post yesterday, not this one now).

    Hello DC
    denizens!
April is here and Primo's just boarded the Titanic.
This jar of MdC Fougère has been in my den for almost as long as I have been back
to traditional wet-shaving. Back then, I also had a "Brain Bowl", which I used for 30 straight days
then was so sick of it, I piffed it. (Got through half, btw.)
This jar is already well-below the halfway mark. I am going to sink it before we reach May.
The Feather was anything, if not efficient.
Kept the angle and with some buffing, succeeded in achieving
    a BBS shave.

SOTD THURSDAY MORNING, APRIL 1, 2021

Welcome to April Fool’s Day, but more importantly my daughter’s birthday! I never expected my “Wild Child” to blossom into the magnificent young woman and mother she’s turned out to be! My shave this morning is dedicated to her and her two children, Mike and Kevin, ages 7 and 9, both of whom like to shave with G-Pop in the morning. I lather the two of them up with whatever I’m using and provide each with a blade-less safety razor when they stay over. We’ll be seeing them later for their Mom’s birthday.

Instead of my usual MWF, I decided on a lime shave this morning. Castle Forbes Lime shaving cream is not for everyone, but I really like it. I fitted my Alpha Shaving T-400 with the 26mm Tuxedo Synth Ferrule and proceeded to generate gobs of rich, slick lather. The Riga Razor with its newly refined edge sailed through the clouds of lime goodness in three easy mug passes. The two pass ATG dome shave featured my LaResche 77, and completed an epic shave kickoff for the first day of the month. I feel refreshed, clean and porcelain smooth.

RAZOR: Riga Razor 15/16 (Mug), LaResche 77 (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 with 26mm Tuxedo Synth Ferrule
    CREAM: Castle Forbes Lime
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Royall Lyme AS/Cologne

    Razor: AA Gen Takahashi Tokusei
Brush: Strike Gold Shave Minion 24 mm Badger
Lather: Loose Screw Uncomfortably Numb (1508.5)
    Aftershave: PAA Sangre de Drago
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Tea Tree Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
Fantastic shave this morning. The Japanese razor easily delivered a smooth crimson free shave that has left my face extremely smooth. The PAA Sangre de Drago splash has longevity that I shall experience throughout most of the day.

My April focus will continue with the 1508.5 Project with a modification. Every second rotation of the Project will feature a random drawing of the remaining three soaps selected to attain the goal of five soaps binned for the year. Therefore, the next 1508.5 soap will feature either Fuzzy Face Bonsai, Ginger’s Garden Obsession Type or Uncle Jon’s Gravity.

I am looking forward to see the great shaves you gentlemen will put forth this month. Have a great day gentlemen.
