Lovely shave, Barry! The Permasharp was the favorite blade of one of our former long time members and a great turner, Jason, another west coast Canuck!

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, APRIL 30, 2022

As I was going through my DE blade collection, I found these oldies but goodies circa 2012. Sharp Star blades, as the name implies, are sharp and incredibly smooth. Not in the same league as Feather, but no slouch either. They mated with Madame Barbasol for a magnificent noggin shave. Nothing need be said about the Wade & Butcher 13/16 mug shave, every bit as good….

RAZOR: Wade & Butcher 13/16 (Mug), Barbasol Floating Head (Dome)
    BLADE: Sharp Star
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
    CREAM: A&E Shaving Butter
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with A&E Post-Shave Serum.

:signs001: Jeff...The Perma-sharp was wonderfully efficient paired with the R41.

Thanks! I spent last night in the woods, and I'm actually still here, leaving soon though.

Jason preferred that blade to all others! I’m glad it worked well for you, Barry.

It was a nice spot! Not too long walk from the car either.
All my camping gear is very inexpensive, but apparently that sleeping bag was fine with below freezing temps.

At most of the snow is gone. Still a lot of ice though.

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: AJ Jordan Old Faithful Cocolobo scales
    Brush: Jayaruh 381 Badger/Boar
    Lather: Ginger’s Garden Snow Bliss
    Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Excellent Saturday morning shave prior to a busy morning with Anthony’s sports, Ju Jitsu and soccer. The Ginger Garden soap has been designated as the next soap to have an Edmund Fitzgerald focus or even the 1508.5 Project. So far it has pair nicely with the Proraso Green and Pinaud Clubman splashes. I may try it next with the AV Musk and then the PAA Black Bot splashes.

The AJ Jordan razor continues to deliver super close shaves. The Jayaruh Badger/Boar brush whipped up a wonderful lather. I am smelling good with the Clubman.

I will have a busy afternoon around the house. We are having the living and dining wood floors refinished. Additionally, I may head out for another load or two of firewood. Time to continue the preparation for the next heating season. Get the logs and later split in the late Spring and early Summer.

I hope you have a great day gentlemen.
