Not quite sure I understand what your asking, but whichever allows for an even smooth stroke in your situation...
I've been interested in producing my own strop for a while now, not that I wouldn't want one of yours, just like trying my hand at things, but having a hard time sourcing the leather, with no tanneries or saddle shops in the area. Where did you source it, OR how did you go about your search; how do I articulate what I'm looking for? Will any old piece of leather do? I'm wanting to make a four-sided bench strop (linen and three leathers). Thanks, Glen, for any input, and good work, as always.
Guys I am cleaning out the drawers and cabinets of some of my personal collection.. I am not going be posting all the pics here, only on the website www.gemstarcustoms.com There are some very rare, very choice razors, that I just haven't used in way to long.. It is time to rotate some out and bring others in... I consider all the razors to be shave ready, but I am not re-honing them I will strop them before them go out though..
Just listed Filarmonica #14 8/8 Doble Temple Friodur 8/8 Spanish Point Scalloped spine Bizmark 6/8 Spike point Thiers Issard 6/8-7/8 Slant, Spanish Point H Boker King Cutter 11/16 Spike Point

I really like my bench strop after a couple weeks of using it Glen. It makes it easy to work on learning the flip and the width means I don't need to figure out X strokes yet either
