I don't/can't shave with a straight anymore, but I should buy one of these beautiful pieces of work just to look at and admire. Very nice work sir.
Another DFS series razor on the website This is a nice Steinbrück & Drucks Mozart Spezial it is just a hair under 6/8 and in near perfect shape now after some light cleaning... New pins and washers and the razor is honed to a true shave ready condition on a full set of Naniwas... Also if you are looking for a Barber's Hone I will have some on the "For Sale Page" with pics tomorrow after I test them...
2 More DFS Razors, these come with Free Badger Brushes I ended up with two badger brushes during a trade and since I don't know much about them I decided that the best thing I could do is just give them away These two just went up on the website today, both are DFS Series Razors the Diamondine is exceptional it doesn't look to have ever been used... VC & Co "Diamondine" Griffon XX #60 "Carbo Magnetic" Thanks for looking ..
Oh, now you've gone and done it. I can't use the razor but I want one of those Ivory handled New Forest brushes.
Gemstar Custom Razor #44 Taylor "Eyewitness" Sheffield England Hollow Grind 13/16 Round-nose Straight Razor... Taylor Cutlery Co. has been active from 1836 until recently.. The razor was fully restored and custom scales were made of Cranberry Juice acrylic the wedge is Marble acrylic.. New pins and washers of Nickel Silver and Stainless Steel.. Although I can't ever get the flash to show in the pics, the acrylics have depth and sparkle in your hand. The razor has near zero hone wear and is polished to a satin glow finish, honed to a smooth comfortable true shave ready edge with a Select Grade Coticule ... Ready to ship home right now Welcome GemStar Customs - Gem Star Customs
This one just went up on the website The maker is Joseph Fenton & Sons out of Sheffield England ca 1797-1920 This is marked VOOGD and Hollow Ground the steel is almost perfect but there is still a tiny blem left on the face of the blade... It is more visible in the pic than in person but it is there.. The scales are Lignum Vitae with a Teak Oil finish the wedge is a Brass lined Amber, the pins and washers are all new Brass... The edge was finished to a smooth shave ready condition on my Select Grade Coticule like most Sheffield blades I touch... If you like Sheffield steel but not the heavy wedge grinds you should really look at this 6/8 roundnose full hollow, there is no visible hone wear on the spine...
