I looked there too and had to wipe the drool off my keyboard. His DFS straights look like one heck of a great value!

Gemstar Custom Razor #57 SOLD !!!!

OK honestly I hate seeing E-bay sellers list a razor as rare because everything is rare to them, but this actually is a rather rare Dubl Duck you just don't see them often.. This one is even more rare because it is stamped with the Barber Supply Comapny name that imported it, instead of Bresduck or Bresnick which is the norm...The razor is pristine, it is stamped Dubl Duck with the normal 2 ducks and "Hand Forged" on the front. The reverse side is stamped "Ilium B&B Supply Co." Troy NY Made in Germany..
The original scales are included they look to be Bone which is normal for these, and have a tiny crack at the wedge end.. I made a custom set of Yellow and Black G-10 scales for the razor with a Yellow Acrylic wedge. The pins are Nickel Silver with the small SS washers to look like the original pins for these, internal washers are Brass.. The scales are a thin 1/10th inch so they feel like the originals and still balance with the razor.. The razor has a Blackened Hammered tang..
The razor is 5/8+ and has a Spike point and is in Mint condition with no hone wear.. It will be the owners choice as to the edge, it has the factory edge and probably will deliver a shave with some dedicated stropping.. I will also hone it with any system that I have in my hone chest included in the price if you so chose..

Also some rather nice DFS razors were just added yesterday

    Gemstar DFS Razor #163

    Brand: John Pritzlaff
    Origin: Milwaukee WI ca 1850-1957
    Model: Brilliant
    Steel: Carbon
    Size: 5/8+
    Grind: Full Hollow
    Point: Dreadnought point aka Spanish
    Scales: Original Cream Celluloid
    Honing: Henckels 1-3-8, Nakayama Midori

This razor is in near mint condition in and out, very very lightly polished... I have had a a few of these on the bench in the past and have been impressed with the shave everytime..
There is a tiny blemish on the reverse side near the spine but it is clean shiny steel there is no Patina or Rust in or out the razor was fully restored.. There was no visible hone wear before the restore nor is there now..

    Gemstar DFS Razor #164

Brand: I am pretty positive this is the Koeller version
    Origin:Germany
    Model: Gun Metal
    Steel: Carbon
    Size: 5/8
    Grind: 1/2 Hollow
    Point: Square
    Jimps: Top & Bottom
    Scales: Original Slick Black Bakelite
    Honing: Henckels 1-3-8, Nakayama Midori

There are several brands that make this name but from the Jimps and the slightly rounded look of the tang I am pretty sure it is a Koeller-Ohligs Co. razor.. The razor was in excellent shape when it came in so it got a very light restore.. No visible hone wear before or after the Nakayama brought out a smoooooth edge on her...

They'll be pissed when they find out that "Ilium B&B Supply Co." does not stand for "Badger & Blade".
Beautiful work as always, Glen! I'm sure that DD found a good home.

One of the finest Hollow Grind razors you can find and this one is in excellent condition, one tiny blem on the backside is the only thing keeping it from a perfect satin finish.. A Morris Mfg. #133 Red Imp made in Solingen Germany.. The scales are also near perfect with no warps, and the razor centers nicely.. The honing went Chosera 1k Henckels 1-3-8 and a B/G Escher finish.. There is no visible hone wear and the original spike is intact I will mute it on request.. This razor was in great shape before the restore and near perfect after a very light touch.. New Nickel Silver pins to match the originals and new Brass bearing washers inside

    Brand: Challenge Razor Co.

    Origin: Bridgeport Conn.

    Model: "Hollow Ground"

    Steel: Carbon

    Size: 5/8

    Grind: Full Hollow

    Point: Square

    Scales: Figual Naked Maiden Celluloid

    Honing: Henckels 1-3-8, Thuringen

The razor was in excellent shape when it came in so it got a very light restore.. No visible hone wear before or after... I added this set of Figural scales that I had been saving for quite some time..The razor is an awesome shaver, and an excellent example of American Steel

    Gemstar DFS Razor #166

    Brand: American Products Co.

    Origin: Cinncinati Ohio

    Model: "2910"

    Steel: Carbon

    Size: 5/8

    Grind: 1/2 Hollow

    Point: Square

    Scales: Faux Tortoise Celluloid

    Honing: Henckels 1-3-8, Thuringen

The razor was in excellent shape when it came in so it got a very light restore.. No visible hone wear before or after... The scales are original with original pins, it closes slightly off center but I decided to not tear it apart because it does not hit the scales.. The finish is good but, not perfect, because I did not do a full restore.. I left this one mostly original and ended up with a good looking great shaving razor at a good price for you...

Make sure to visit the "For Sale" page on the website as the "Kit for Cliff" silent auction is still going on until Sept 1st all details are there..

A couple of customs to start off these are both Wilkinson Razors stamped Warranted "Real German Hollow Grind" these are matched razors and can be put together as a set if you wanted to..
Both are 13/16 and sheathed in Grey & Black G-10 scales with a Mother of Pearl (recon) wedge.. I used Nickel Silver pins and Double Stacked SS washers completed with Brass internal bearing washers for a nice smooth action.. The finish on the razors is a near perfect Satin Glow..

    Wilkinson #59
    [IMG]

    Wilkinson #60
    [IMG]

A Custom Genuine Rocky Mountain Elk Brush can be combined with the two Wilkerson razors into a full set at a discount price..

The brush is 95mm overall with a 24mm overstuffed Silvertip knot, the knot loft is at 51mm which gives the brush quite a bit of back bone.. The base of the brush is made to tie in with the Wilkinson razors using a Nickel Silver spacer under a Mother of Pearl (recon) butt cap that is highly polished to show all the fire of the MoP..

Also up on the website are two Custom brushes turned by WillN/Griz in Heavy Dense Cocobolo.. After these were turned I put them in my new Vacuum Chamber for 36 hours at 25HG which totally inundated the wood with Daly's Sea Fin sealer... The handles were dried for over 3 weeks then polished with Renaissance Wax and a soft cotton buffer ... Both brushes have a 24 mm overstuffed Silvertip knot set at about 54mm

The Tall Brush keeps your fingers well out of the lather and gives you plenty of torque with a 140mm overall length

The Medium Brush still carries a bit of height at a 110mm overall length

Thanks for looking, and for those of you looking for DFS razors and Barber's Hones make sure to check this weekend as I have several in process right now
