Yes, it seems the geometry of the heads on my examples are the same. Maybe people who trash the Fatboy haven’t used one, or had a bad experience with one. They were ridiculously priced for a long time - probably still are, but I haven’t kept up with the vintage market since finding mine - and maybe it feels good to trash talk something that you might have wanted at one time, only to be priced out of the market. Maybe. Or not. And tangentially speaking, if Keith Richard was a vintage Gillette he’d be a Red Tip.
I recently had to downsize my shave den to one brush and one razor. I chose a Simpson T1 synthetic, and my fat boy. No regrets. The fat boy is a do it all razor, and thanks to the adjustment I can accommodate any random blade I happen to pick up at the drug store or dollar general. (Okay, I broke down and bought a Schick Krona a couple of weeks ago because I was weak, not because I had a problem with the fat boy.) ... so I'm actually using two razors right now. - Bax
