You guys might have inspired me to buy a pair, of leather boat/deck shoes. I had some in the 80's and 90's, and they were great. All leather, no socks needed, just slip them on and go.
Great!! Just remember to keep the insoles clean in them if you go without socks or they will get " gunky" !!
That's great , but , your feet still get stuff on them that eventually would build up on the insoles and have to be cleaned off...
Just can't stand wearing shoes without socks. Never could. I even wear socks with my moccasins around the house. But that's me.
I'm pretty much the same, but way back when, the deck shoes were the exception. When I was in college, we took a long road trip with several students from around the world. One never wore socks. We were in my car, and going over a swamp, on a long bridge. He decided to take his shoes off, to air his feet out, and it smelled like dog crap. I came skidding to a stop on the bridge, the guys wrestled the shoes away from him, and threw them over the side. We didn't move until he washed his feet, with whatever beer or sodas we had on hand. It was that, or he had to hitch hike the rest of the way.
