I don't know if it's still made, or not. I have enough ARKO to last many years, without rationing.

I bought some Williams, off of Amazon 11 years ago, for $3 a puck. That was expensive, back then. Now the want $48 for 1 puck. So, I would say Williams is :sick013:.
ARKO has gone up a couple of dollars, at $14 for a case of 12.

Eh, I've had my one last puck of Williams in the rotation for about three years now. It's been in my stash for over a decade and is now essentially odourless. For whatever reason, it's yielding better lather than ever before--but when it's gone, I won't miss it.

If I ever get my hands on some Arko, I'll probably let it likewise hibernate for a while.

Odorless-that's what happened to my Colgate Shave Soap that I foolishly ignored for too long.

    ARKO for the win. :bounce017:

Oh, Williams is out of business. No surprise. :scared003:

Shaved with the old Williams for about 45yrs, switched to Arko when the other went to Hell. Last year found a very old puck of Williams and compared. Both shave fine, neither have much scent if left out awhile. Keep in mind; prior to the internet, men shaved to work. With the net it has become a hobby for collecting razors, stones, brushes, etc... I get a bit tickled how materialism has infected all my old patterns- pipes, cigars, whiskey. It does make all the forums entertaining. I have tried many razors, stones, a few other shaving ideas and generally send them down the road when it

What happened to Wiliams? is this due to the smell of it or something like the product changed to have more alcohol burn?

Williams took the tallow out some years ago. Since I had used it since 1965 I had no problem noticing a degraded feel to my razor on my face. I am not a boutique or hobby shaver. I don't generally make many posts but this caught my eye. There is another shave forum that I have made a few comments over the years but mostly read for entertainment.

Probably due to how there are good shaving caned creams/foams, creams, and soaps that do not use tallow or animal fats in them that work so the company thought they could do the same saving money, but this Willams when you say it was missing the tallow sounds like one company they did not reformulate they just left out an ingredient.

My opinion, the latest formula was lousy. The lather had no staying power. It disappeared soon after going on the face. I hated the smell, too, but again, my opinion.
I was PIFed a puck of the original formula by Primotenore. It didn't have much of a scent, but the lather was much better.

My thought is that production was completely stopped for two reasons: the latest generations wanting a quick shave so opting for canned foam, and a product that really wasn't that good.
    But I've been wrong before.

This remined me of the foam can Barbasol made in the 2000's it came like a dying can where the foam was really thin, thinner than most like shaving foams. Of course, I think Barbasol made the foam like this to prompt people to move to the new gel that is now a harder to find product made in less quantity because people go to Gillette or Schick for can gel. I was asked to use this shaving foam when my original can of Gillette green Gel that turns white when foamed up was gone with my Mach III the original slide on version and it sucked so hard, I took and swapped my dad's dying one for mine then ran the can out. I used other shaving cream with my Mach III then nothing with the Gillette Wilkinson 2 blade disposable and Personna 2 blade and almost nothing with the Safe-T-Shavers I have used since only using with Safe-T-Shavers some kind of soap or conditioner.
