Rubber bands hold the remaining wrapper on the bottom two thirds of mine. It stands up on the bathroom counter, the rubber bands keep the wrapper in place if I knock it over and also give a non slip grip.
When using it as a stick, I just fold down the paper and let it breath. I never try to cover up the end as I want the scent to mellow. But I do prefer to store it smashed up into an Old Spice mug.
I've started to just use a 'slice' of the original of everything. Stick, pluck, what ever. It was becoming to hard to keep track of what I had if I didn't keep it in the original box.
The bolded is exactly what I was coming here to see about this morning- I just got an Arko stick for travelling. Haven't used it yet, but I'll be looking for some way to store/pack it in my travel toiletry bag without getting everything else in there soapy... I suppose I could just toss it in a plastic ziplock baggie, but that seems sloppy to me, there's gotta be some creative little plastic tube that is the perfect size- large pill bottle? Old camera film case? I know neither of these would work, but something like that has to be out there...
I've seen people use pill bottles, mine just sits in the shelf unwrapped; its cheap enough I don't care.
Like I said, I wouldn't care if it just sits out at the house either, but I'm looking for something to store it in when travelling. I'm thinking that if I can find something, the Arko stick will become my primary travel shave stick due to its compact size & simplicity.
Like Aaron said, pill bottle. Not sure of what size, take the shave stick to the drug store. Another thing that works is one of the Simpsons travel tubes that they use with there small brushes. ShoeBox sells them. Or, go to ebay and type in shaving tin and you will find all kinds older Palmolive and Colegate metal containers.
