    August Straight Focus.
Today was my first shave with my new Kamisori.
I really like the size and shape of this blade. It is very maneuverable. The razor wasn't sold as "shave ready" but the edge looked good under magnification so I stropped it and shaved. I got a really nice shave with it. I'm very happy with this one.

    August Focus Day 11:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Tiki Cabernet Neroli SS
    Gem Damaskeene
    Stirling Unscented PSB Stirling
    Florida Water AS

Second shave with this razor, and it was as good as the first. These early SE razors seem to be very good shavers, from my limited experience. I ended with an easy DFS on two passes. I wrapped with a little Florida Water, and my day was off to a good start.

As a side question, has the site been experiencing problems today, or is it my connection?

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning friends! This morning I decided to try the Rapira SS Chrome in the Ikon X3 slant. My previous use of the SS Chrome left me underwhelmed and I wanted to see if a little slant action made a difference with this blade. Indeed it did! Loaded up in X3 the Rapira cut with ease where before it seemed a little tuggy and draggy. 3 passes to a BBS finish. Which is quite remarkable in a razor that feels very mild and a blade that was previously unable to deliver! Have a great day my friends!

Another King Kong shave as described by @Linuxguile and another good one. The blade has held up well over the three uses. Today was just as a little less smooth as the first two, but still quite smooth. The blade had no problem slicing through my beard and gave me another near BBS shave. This blade really is similar to the Ladas blade. For my inexpensive blade I will probably continue to use the Ladas blade, but if I ended up with a bunch of these available, it certainly would not be a problem grabbing one to use.

What is interesting is I could access it just fine from the Tapatalk app on my phone, but not over the web. Unfortunately, I could not figure out how to do much of anything except read the posts using the app, so will be sticking with the web. :ashamed001:

    Day 2
AoS best badger brush (broken in)
    Proraso Green Shaving Soap Jar
    Gillette New Long Comb
    Astra Superior Platinum Blade.
    Mennen Skin Bracer

Two shakes to get some water out of the brush. I loaded it with the soap and then added a little water to the bowl to whip it to a rich lather. It was not thick enough to clog up the razor, but was thick & rich (and cooling). I took one pass with the grain and a second across the grain. I was practicing riding the cap, but was concentrating on getting a closer shave than yesterday. I got a closer shave, but also opened a weeper under my nose. It may have happened when dealing with the razor angle under my nose. Tomorrow, I'm going riding for a few days, so I'll have a nice growth for Monday. Have a great weekend!

    *Lady Schick* / Chick blade
    Alum & Avon Bravo AS

    SOTD 08112016.gif

I just picked up, cleaned up, and am fixing to ship out a pristine Lady Schick injector. I had to take it for one shave. For presentation & evaluation purposes I gave it the vintage equipment scrub down and installed a new blade. Couldn't resist shaving to see how it handles. Good stuff. When my DE acquisition disorder was hitting hard, I passed up a few injectors, my bad.
So I whipped up a Proraso lather with the Pro 98 and got in my three passes. This sweet Lady shaves as well as Tom's @twhite B-V3. Good thing as I'm sending it to him. His Hussy will have a companion.
    Good Shave to ya'll!

August 11, 2016- Underused Razor Focus

    Razor: Super-109 (5)
    Blade: Rapira Super Stainless (2)
    Brush: VdH Boar
    Soap: Arko

Second day on the Super-109 and the Rapira Super Stainless. The only change was to make it an Adjustable Arko August and go with Arko instead of Cella.

Another Zen shave with almost no sense that the blade is even there. A higher grip on the SA definitely makes a difference as there is, once again, no hand discomfort. Boy, does Arko make a lot of lather, though...

I trust you're all having a great day.

Yet another great shave this morning. I really like the PAL, I'm figuring out the Semogue and the Osage/Florida Water combo is fantastic. First try with the Stirling Ozark and I love it. Excellent lather, protection, slickness and a fantastic scent. Thank you @Robyflexx for inspiring it's purchase. Have a great day folks!

    Adjustable August
DEs - Gillette Fatboy and Slim
    Injectors - PAL and Schick

Week Two with the DE Adjustables - Fatboy and Slim.
Mostly on the road, with the Fatboy.
Monday’s shave with the Slim almost gave me a weekday shave where I did not have to shave the next workday. Amazing.

Today’s shave with the Slim I decided to try a new-to-me blade. The Gillette Super Blue which came to me as a PIF from @PLANofMAN and straight from a factory blade bank!
    08-11-16.JPG
    1-day growth, 2-pass shave.
    WTG-9, ATG-5 (3 on chin)
    NOS Gillette Super Blue (1).

Pretty great reduction on 1st pass. Very close ATG. No way I could have done ATG on chin with anything higher than the 3 setting. My BBS is still holding up after nearly 6 hours.

Off to North Carolina to visit my 85-year-old mother and her idyllic beach house. The injector adjustables will have the pleasure of making the trip with me!

    Cheers!

Next up in the fight to make the team is my very cool Wosty. It is the second shave for the Wosty and I paired it with my vintage Scotch Heather linen strop.

The shave went smoothly except for 1 nick due to operator error. 4 passes and just a little feedback from the alum and faceturbating revealed a BBS. A's across the board

    Irritation A- Closeness A Smoothness A Sharpness A-

I am sure the Wosty will make the team, it's only minus is the width of the blade, I prefer a wider blade but thanks to being a wedge it has some hefty which I like. It looks, cool and shaves great. Despite the dominance of modern razors in my den this vintage shaver has made the cut.

Looks like the site is still having issues. I will try to repost the photo later.
