I suppose I can call this week "Little Variety Week". That is because I'm trying to finish off a cream(Barbasol Original)and an A.S. (Skin-Bracer). I think I can succeed with the Barbasol, but there;s still enough in the SB for a few more tries after this week, so maybe I'll put it to rest and try to kill it(SB)off next week. .

Well this is the tightest survey I've seen so far as a member of the Focus group. This baby could well go down to August 31. Could be talkin Easy Goer-Sunday Silence here(to refresh, those two nags ran head to head for about the final, 3/4 of the 1989 Preakness , leaving the rest of the field with no chance. What an exciting race that was!!!)

Great photo. Reef Point makes a quality soap. The trick for me has been finding the scent I like.

16 August 2017 Wool Fat Wednesday Adjustable August Shave

Pre: Hot water, soap from the puck and a hot towel
    Razor: 1971 Super Adjustable 109
Blade: Voskhod, the pride of the Rodina
    Brush: Rubberset 303
    Soap: THE FAT
Post: Hot/Cold water rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
    After Shave: Herself's favorite, Aramis

My wife's plane lands this afternoon around 1330. It'll be good to have her back home. From the pictures she sent it looks like she had a great time. Anyway, on with the shave..
Continuing on with the Fat, the Rubberset 303 whipped up a great, slick, comfy lather. 2.5 passes of shaving excellence by the SA-109/Voskhod duo yielded a BBS shave. I'm looking forward to next week when I start yet another series of blade auditions with the Slim. Gonna be interesting to see if there is any contrast.
Splashed on some Aramis and Hump Day was on.
Today is National Airborne Day and interestingly enough, National Rum Day. So, buy a Paratrooper a Havana Rum Punch!
    AIRBORNE...ALL THE WAY!!
    HOOAH!!

    Thanks, Clint.

This was a classic case of "Do it right or do it over." I should have refinished the handle when I changed out the original crappy boar knot. In fact, I remember now looking at the finish and thinking it wasn't very good. But I got slack and lazy, and didn't want to bother finding the sandpaper and a new finish, so I just glued the new knot in and called it a day. And six months later, I end up refinishing it anyway, except it takes more time and effort now than it would have then because I have to do the sanding and finishing without gunking up the new knot...

A little later than normal shave this morning. I was dropping my kids off at school; I can't believe summer is over already. The kids were excited, though, so that is good.

:scared007:I toss my blades after two shaves. I'm a 4 pass shaver and find I need a very sharp blade for the ATG pass.

In Korea if you have three or more kids you are called a patriot. Great looking and happy kids, I always enjoy the family pics on this thread. :chores016:
