Good report Bruce. I used the Hendrix sample for 6 shaves and found that it gets slick when you really hydrate it. Almost worth screwing up a lather discovering how much it'll take.

Touche. Current exchange rate is $1 to $1.3... I'll put it in USD so you'll be able to avoid the conversion:). At IB, 250g of Boellis Panama soap in a box is $50 USD, 250g of Boellis Panama soap in the ceramic tub is $119.95 USD. That makes just the bowl worth $70 USD by itself. Seems crazy to me.

I am not a great expert on blades either, but to me, the Gillette Rubie Plus seems quite good -- sharp and smooth. I have only shaved with it once so I cannot comment on how long it lasts. For your information, many shavers here consider the Russian blades to be the best around nowadays.

I don’t use a preshave oil or soap myself, but many shavers swear by them. There are a lot of commercial ones available here. Most of them seem to be glycerin or coconut oil dressed up in fancy packaging. ;)

Check out the prices of those Czech + Speake aluminum dishes sometime...

Speaking of exchange rates... I have been perusing razors that you guys talk about. The Schick G models for example... How much would you expect to pay for a good condition model (shipped) in USD?

A Schick G can be found in the US for quite cheap. $10 would be a good price. Something in top mint condition with a box or case would be more, of course, but a run-of-the-mill G type should be inexpensive.

Does anyone know what model this is? Currently at under £7 shipped!

I'm not too fussed about cases! They just need to look pretty and work well :)

That looks like a Schick E type. The handle color is not right to be a G model. It should have one patent number on the back whereas the G razors have two patent numbers. That's a beast of a razor!

I know what you mean. I don't have a single case for any razor I own.

No more then $10 + Shipping. If you want to get into some injectors I can give you a combo deal for a couple of razors and a magazine of Personna injector blades. PM me if you are interested.

Like Perry said, looks like an E2. One of the more aggressive injector models out there.

Can't tell completely by the picture, but if it says Schick Injector on the round part, it is a Type E. Based on the colour of the (what appears to be) bakelite handle, that is my first guess. If there are parallel grooves on the bar, it is an E3 or later. It definitely isn't an E1. If the bar is smooth, it is likely an E2. If it says Eversharp-Schick on the round part, it is a type G. G's usually have plastic handles as well.
There is a really good comprehensive Injector guide at safetyrazors.net as well, which will explain all the different types of injectors, packaging, etc.
There are definitely others on here who know more than me about these...

EDIT- Looks like others beat me to it...Andrew and Perry both know tons about these, that's for sure!

The aluminum Czech & Speake shave container is $100 USD. As cool as they look I couldn’t bring myself to spend that much.
