Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: GEM PTFE
    Razor: Jayaruh 'Woody' SE
    Brush: Restored Rubberset 100-T badger
    Soap: Stirling Grapefruit
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill aftershave

Second shave with the Woody razor. Wow! It's a terrific razor. I wrote in the Woody thread that it shaves better than the GEM 1912 I own. It might be more effective than the Featherweight. It's very light, which would be a drawback for some, but with the right angle and the handle length you can overcome the weight issue. I find it to be really effective and easy to use, despite the novelty of it. All around nice shave.

@Drygulch - I finished off this sample of Stirling Grapefruit. That closes out my trio of citrus samples from Stirling. Now to decide on what soap to tackle next.

    Have a great day!

Nice photo and setup, Jim! Enjoy your time in New Orleans! I've been there many times. It was only two hours from Hattiesburg, Mississippi where I went to college at Southern Miss. I had a lot of friends at USM who lived in and around New Orleans. The food is outstanding. Soft shell crab at Patois in the Garden District, Turtle Soup at Arnaud's, Crabmeat Cheesecake at Palace Cafe, Poboys at Mother's, and on and on. I'm jealous!

In this "Adjustable August, I've decided to do a rotation of a soap&brush one day, cream/foam the next. Should be a good way to "beat the heat", as I'll expect to have at least one cold item for use every day. Included in this plan will be Chiseled Face.....never used it in humidity before, but there's always a first time for everything(besides, there IS menthol in there after all).

Cant wait to see the continues performance of the 74, Neal! How many sticks of Arko do you have in that mug?
Nice shot Jason! I'm sure the next shave will be much smoother!
awesome travel shave Jim! I remember you saying TSA inspected your razor. How did you get your blades to your destination?
Fantastic shot Perry! That's some high praise for the Woody!

Since I had a little more time, I decided to try the F plate this morning. Perhaps it would have been better to wait. The F plate has a massive blade gap of 1.23mm. The overall shave was very good apart from two operator errors resulting in nicks. I think I’ll switch back to the E and use it longer before stepping up to the F. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

I've been trying to get in one or two straight shaves a week just to build my confidence and skill set. I had enough time to get one in this morning with my freshly honed Ontario razor. Used this travel brush that I got in a box of stuff that I bought from Jorge @Jorvaljr . I never knew that a knot could be so floppy yet very scritchy at the same time. I managed to paint my way to a usable lather out of the stick applied Stirling Electric sheep and had a nice two pass shave that fell just a little short of DFS. No blood was drawn which I will count as a win. And thanks to the coaching from our veteran members I had an easier time with the S\N pass on the right side of my neck. Have a great day my friends!

The world as I knew it changed. A Brian travel photo without a SR. Love the travel tin setup though.

Thank you Andrew. I have too much going on now to fully utilize such a blade gap. I'll wait it out.

Today's shave was awesome! Feather in a fatboy gave a close shave with no drama. Gotta love it!

Oh, and yes, Virginia, there is an Easter Bunny. I didn't mean to offend anyone's religion regarding the bunny that lays eggs that is obviously an essential part of the Easter Story of the death, burial, resurrection, and chocolate and marshmallow feast of Jesus after the eggs were collected at Golgotha. I was just checking if anyone was paying attention out there.

P.S. Imaginary cookies are real in the imagination of "true followers", so I guess, you have that going for you. We, on the other hand have hats!

Today's soap is brought to you (me) thanks to @Str8on2
Seville is nice soap; very nice. The Colonia scent is pleasing.
Face-lathered the "bloomed" Seville with my Semogue mixed knot.
Still quite a lot of scrub that needs breaking in.
Personna 74, third shave is still "razor" sharp and smooth.
Fatboy on "2": as to be expected, slightly more blade feel and therefore, easier to maintain the angle.
Reminds me of my '38 Senator, tightened down.
Gotta a bit greedy under the chin and paid with a small weeper.
    Good finish with matching AS.

Excellent setup Joseph! This shaving with each setting on the adjustable is really intriguing. Mine has never been set below 5.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I got 1.5 sticks in the mug. I've used it a few times since filling it but I estimate that it will last a year at the rate I use it. I only have 10 sticks left so maybe I should slow down? :(
