Thursday - lathered up some TSD Leather soap with a Redleaf. My wife found it, NOS, at an antique store last month. Still has some stink to it, which I find odd for a badger brush. All my other badger brushes smelled fine after the first shave or two.
Today I coupled the Wilkinson Sword badger with Tabac. Had a great shave, but I still have to get used to it having less backbone than the boar brushes. Is that usual for badger brushes?
I think so. Not that my badger brushes are what I would consider floppy, but my boar brushes do seem to be a little stiffer.
Friday: It's not strictly a badger but today I used my Mixed Midget Omega. It's a badger and boar mix and does a great job bowl or face lathering.Today I face lathered Arko stick and got more than enough lather for my 2 pass face.I skipped shaving the dome today.
Friday, and none too soon! My very first set up was with a VDH brush and soap, still using carts. I liked it, so I decided to buy a "real" brush and purchased a Vulfix 406, the Burlington. The Burlington was used today, along with my first DE, a Merkur 34C. Lathered up with some TSD SOTQ A3, Jelly Donut, and have a magnificent shave.
Today's combo (edit: saturday, that is): Wilkinson Sword badger, Williams vintage, Rolls Razor. Now there's a -huge- difference with the new Williams of last week! Great lather! Great shave!
Saturday: Thater 4292/6 2 band fan,DB Brush Scuttle,Klar Kabinett,face lathered,OCMM.Great shave and headshave.
Saturday A couple of Christmases ago my wife bought me a custom Merkur 34C. The handle was red mallee burl. I contacted the guy who made the razor and had him make me a custom brush to match. It's a 24mm silvertip set into the red mallee burl that's like lathering with pillow. I love it.
Sunday: Today's badger is a Savile Row 3824/Speick shave stick and shave cream face lathered together.
Sunday. Combined the Wilkinson Sword badger with QED Wild Rose and had me a great lather. I've got the feeling the brush is getting broken in pretty good.
