interesting-that's how I got mine....the "barberettes" where I go have an order book. I saw Stephan BR in there and gave it a go. It's pretty convenient frankly...they call me when it arrives, and it's a short drive there-the sale is exchanged. But yes, do tell me where yours orders from, thanks.
This BARBASOL thing got my attention a few days ago. Thank you, BAMA. Now that I have recently tried it again, it will become a regular in my rotation. IT IS THAT GOOD! Here are my recent acquisitions of this ICONIC shave cream. And picking up a can of the ORIGINAL (red can) today, I suddenly remembered the scene in the iconic sci-fi movie Jurassic Park, where the villain computer guy tries to smuggle dinosaur embryos out of the park in a modified BARBASOL shaving cream can. Looking into it, you can see that Barbasol even partnered with the 2015 Jurassic World movie release creating special edition cans for the ORIGINAL & SOOTHING ALOE creams. Kind of hokey, but hey, the original Jurassic Park movie and the latest Jurassic World sequel were the best of the series - IMHO. And both featured BARBASOL. So, now when I use these products, I may find myself humming the theme song to Jurassic Park. After all, it is a much better song than the Barbasol theme song. YMMV
I am really enjoying this new focus on Barbasol! Had to get a quick clean shave in this morning, and had great confidence that Barbasol would get me there. First use of the Pacific Rush - I was NOT disappointed. COOL!
This old steel Super Speed gave me an incredible 4 pass BBS, and my skin feels as if a blade never touched it!! I need to visit this razor more often....
I have something I am looking forward to, for tomorrow!!! I read somewhere...where somebody was saying his favorite barber had the best HOT lather ever. He asked the guy what was his secret...he simply used a MrCoffee Coffee Mug warmer and a can of Barbasol Original. Heres the original post by @Weeper Warrior, http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/barbasol-what-are-your-thoughts.45032/page-3 At the time, when I heard this story I was so Jaded and closed minded about canned goo, it had no effect on me, other than thinking how much I used to LOVE HOT Barber Lather! Well now that I've rediscovered the pleasures of Barbasol, I picked up a Mr Coffee Mug warmer this evening at "Bed Bath & Beyond...(just under $10.).So tomorrow before my shower..Maybe an hour before my shower, I'll fire this guy up and put a can of Barbasol Original on it...After my shower, I am dying to try it! I'll report back here as soon as I do...I hope it comes up to my expectations....If not....well could always use it to keep a mug of coffee hot...
SOTD 10.12.2017 Pre-shave: hot shower No brush Barbasol Sensitive Skin shaving cream Razor: Gem Micromatic OC Blade: Gem Blue Star (2) Post-shave: Dickinson WH, Nivea Sensitive Balm, Pinaud Musk Cologne I had been out fishing most of the day so didn't get showered and shaved until this evening. Just wanted a quick shave since it's soon off to bed. I picked up this Sensitive Skin Barbasol last week at Walmart in their travel section bins. I don't believe I've ever used it before. It was very nice. I especially like the scent which reminds me of a Sandalwood scent. Overall, a very good, satisfying shave. I hope everyone is enjoying his / her week!
Can doesn't blow up! I left it for 5 hours to test...It does get hot to touch, but not too hot...Lather is warm going on but gets cold in about 20 seconds!! When you shake the can the foam doesn't shake...It is expanded from the heat. The lather is thinner than normal... I didn't dig it...after first pass I used another unheated can for next two passes...Lather much thicker...You know...Barbasol is incredibly rich, creamy and thick...Why do something to make it thinner like Gillette Foamy... ? Test Result....BETTER WITHOUT HEATING...Foam is thicker! Mug Warmer: No Go!!! YMMV....ha,ha...But for me...from now on I'll take my Barbasol Neat
My wife is happy about that aswell Of course I didn't want an explosion....but....it was worth taking the risk... .....so you guys wouldn't have to... See how dedicated I am to you cats?
The travel size Barbasol is a real powerhouse in it's lasting ability giving many, many more shaves than would be thought for such a small can. Would you do the community the favor of tracking how many shaves you get?
I can do that. I'm taking the weekend off from shaving but I'll start on Monday and continue on until at the least the end of the month. I promised my bride that I would grow a beard after retirement and I negotiated to wait until No Shave November. P.S. So one shave done with that travel size Sensitive Skin can.... we'll see how many are left. Dan
