I haven't been a fan of Purple, but lately I've come to enjoy it quite a bit. While I love the eggnog fragrance of Yellow, Purple does yield a consistently better shave.
I see Barbasol.com is now selling 7-ounce cans only. Seems Walmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Save-A-Lot are among the last places to get the classic big cans. Walgreens.com no longer lists Barbasol Yellow. I hope all you fans of Yellow stocked up! I've got two cans left for shaving around the holidays...love that Eggnog fragrance.
I hate to see the big cans go. If you use it daily the 7 ounce can won't last long, especially if you have a wife, or girlfriend also using it. I remember when Barbasol was sold in 11 ounce cans. To me the 7 ounce can seems almost like a travel size. Clayton Sent from my LG-K450 using Tapatalk
When I go grocery shopping tomorrow, I'll look for what size they have. My Century can is 10 oz.....perhaps they figured they'd begin with the 1 oz. reduction and gradually go down from there.
Yellow's been discontinued for some time now. It remained available on walgreens.com until just recently. It's the end of an era: Yellow has been around since before I started shaving the '80s. I am sad to see it go, but Sensitive Skin and Extra Moisturizing came back from the dead, so there's still hope for Lemon Lime and Skin Conditioning to make a triumphant return. I've mentioned this before, and I'll say it again: It would be nice if Barbasol brought back retired varieties on a rotating, Limited Edition basis. We could then stock up on all our old favorites, and shave happily ever after...
Original Pacific Rush has the driest, least moisturizing lather of all the Barbasols, in my experience. One needs to use a more water. Needing to use extra water thins out the lather, leading to a closer shave.
Enjoyed a smooth comfortable shave by my 1972 Trac-II Deluxe and the Mentholated Pacific Rush. Ended up 99.9% BBS. Clayton Sent from my LG-K450 using Tapatalk
I think someone recently wrote a post here that said there appears to be a shortage of the Century Cans now. I haven't seen any in the usual places I look. Oh well...might have to go back to the "Est. 1919" regular ones(that is, as opposed to those that do not say "Est. 1919)
Stopped by my local Family Dollar today--they had an ample supply of 10-ounce cans, including the 100th Anniversary commemorative cans. If I didn't already have 21 cans of Barbasol...
