I don't think so....a very small opening with no pressure to the water. Now, an old can you would have to worry about rust on the bottom as it is steel. The new cans have an aluminum bottom so it is rust proof...no worries.
I remember buying this for my dad for Christmas back in the 70s. He used a couple of times but eventually started using an electric and my mom either threw it away or sold it at a yard sale.
I was at my barber the other day. I said some thing about how warm the lather from his machine feels. He laughed and said," He hated those lather machines they are a pain to clean." Then he showed me a can of Barbasol. I asked him how he gets it warm like that. He turned me around and showed me, he keeps the can on a cheap coffee mug warmer. He told me an older barber told him about it. I asked if he was worried the can might pop. He said he forgot to turn the warmer off one night and left the can on there for next day. I was just shocked at the whole thing.
I am not fond of Barbasol. I think it stinks. I haven't found a canned goop that I could use yet. when I was in the Army I used a shave lotion that was nice smelling and protectively slick but it clogged the cheap razors they allowed us and I haven't been able to find it in stores since I got back. I have even forgotten what it was called.
Yes and no. New labels with steel. New labels with Aluminum. I have soaked the old steel cans without any big issues. Just a little rust on he bottom rim.
Hadn't used Barbasol in years. Recently bought a can of the green variety. Seems OK, rinses away easy. Nothing special, but at less than $2 a can and made in the USA, I got no complaints.
That's a good point-the kind endorsed by Babe Ruth and Knute Rockne may not be the same kind we enjoy today.
I decided the red one is it for me(I've commented a couple times on the Arctic Chill, and while I thought it was OK, the red one is allows for the most after-shave combos, I think, as well as times of the year to use it).
I have a thought developed just a short while ago. I used the red Barbasol, and it couldn't get facial hair on my lower chin. RISE came to the rescue, and clipped em off. The red Barbasol gave me a fine shave elsewhere-just missed that area.
I grew up using Barbasol as my dad used it for as long as I could remember. For a canned "cream" this cheap, it actually works quite well even with a DE razor. I used it recently and its quick, easy, and seems to get the job done. It is thick though and is a big razor clogger. It does rinse from face and razor really well but it does have a drying effect on the face. A little goes a long way. It doesn't seem to shave as close for me as TOBS or my soap especially with a couple of days of growth. It has way too much air in the mix and sort of floats ontop of your whiskers rather than sink down in between. The slickness is hard to get unless you really leave your face dripping wet as barbasol tends to drink a lot of water. I think it sells for about two dollars. I've had the same can for over a year now. Is it a decent cream? Yes, actually. Its the only canned shaving product I will use and for two dollars you can't really fault it. Is it as nice for your skin as a traditional cream? No of course not. Basically, it does what it should do for such a low price and it does it well. I do find it works best with cart razors but, who wants to use those?
I, too, wonder about the Mountain Blast. But about Barbasol itself, it's probably the best shaving cream to use with a Bay Rum Aftershave.
If I had to pick between the main cans o' foam, it's Barbasol over Gillette's hands down. Noxema I've seen but never tried.
My recollections on Noxema is that, like Gillette Foamy Menthol, it's hard to decide what aftershave to top it off with.
