Love it when old "junk" like that can be gotten to near new condition. I just did the same yesterday with a $1 box of old percolators I picked up at an auction. No one else bid. They all cleaned up great, esp. the fat little "atomic" model I had my eye on...cruddy before, now shiny as the doors on your Slim there. And it works, light and all. Gotta love stuff you can restore to usable beauty.
And there was one razor there yesterday - a Slim, floating around in a box of true junk. Stupid me was getting a sammich when they pulled it out of order and someone gave $4 for the flat. I asked the guy if he wanted the razor and, of course, he said "That's all I wanted." Ah well...I'll go have some more coffee.
