I think I've kept count and my SOC boar has shed about 6-7 hairs over my initial 20-25 uses. Almost all of them during the first two uses and none at all for the 10+ last uses. So I think it's 'settling down' now
I also had great luck with a $27, including shipping, silver tip badger from Franks of China. It seems folks on shaving forms love this line or hate it. I have a dozen plus razors, and only two brushes, but I won't be adding any brushes soon.
Please take a look at the vintage blades 2 band . They can be found here. They are a fantastic price for a 2 band brush. I have the 24 mm knot. I have had only one hair fall out of it!!! Seriously check them out. They are totally worth the money. The hair has curled tips and when wet it's solo soft . Almost gel like . You won't be disappointed ! https://www.vintagebladesllc.com/shop/Vintage-Blades-Brand/
I got this Frank Shaving finest badger on eBay in a package deal last June. I was after the razor (Parker 94R), but the brush turned out to be the best part of this deal. I got the brush, razor, and 50 blades for $22.60. The brush is my favorite badger brush. I would buy Franks again if I need a new brush.
