Don't listen to these guys. They don't know what they are talking about. ;) If you could feel my face right now (and I mean that in very heterosexual way), you would know what a spectacular blade it is.

Casper, PM me your address and I'll send you a couple of Voskhods. You may like them as much as me or you may hate them. Either way, you should give them a try.

I really like the Voskhod and Shark Super Chrome blades. Neither of those blades have the wax/glue issue. YMMV, but both of these blades give me a great close shave with little or no irritation.

how many shaves do you get out of a blade, really? this may sound odd, but i only get one good shave, thats it. now i can shave more, but im left all red afterwards. the redness will go away in about 3-4 hours, but if i shave with a fresh blade it great, completely smooth and my skin looks white right afterwards. you think im throwing good blades away?

Feathers are that way for me. First shave is great. Second is a little rough - still ok but I can tell the blade's not as smooth as the first shave. The third is usually a disaster if I try to push it that far. Most blades go a little longer for me though.

i could probably shave more times with a blade, but just not against the grain, thats when i feel the edge not as smooth. well if i shave with a new personna everyday, that cost about 12 cents, not to bad i guess. im still fairly new to this, so im sure after a year of shaving this way ill have a better idea how to make a blade last.

Feathers I get 3-4 depending, but I ALWAYS hand strop them because they seem prone to getting rough spots with my beard and this helps keep them comfortable and smooth until I chuck them.

Edit - Incidentally, I've been using up my 50 feathers over the last little while, the glue spots have been rather tiny compared to many others and actually arent too bad. Once I open up the next pack I'll let you know but hopefully they've stopped sealing the wrappers with a super-soaker full of goo from 60 yards away.

I've noticed a difference. The harshness on the first use for Feather blades, is gone when I go 5x on each side. As for longevity, doesn't work TOO drastically but it does work slightly.

yeah ill have to give that a try, instead of pitching the bluebirds so soon, maybe ill get another shave out of em. o, does anybody know bout the gillette super platinums, or the blacks having no wax? seems odd those wouldnt, but yet other gillette blades would have wax.

Finally burned through my sampler, though I must admit to tossing the Russian Rapira blades after one use as I wanted to get to the 100pk of Personna Labs. Had my first Persona shave today. Wow, fantastic shave and no glue or wax on the blade. I'm a Personna man for life now, I'd say.

I've seen a difference as well when I strop my blades - they shave smoother, and produce more quality shaves for me.

I also like that the Personna Lab blades are made in USA as opposed to offshore. My American neighbours buy enough of my country's stuff to warrant some reciprocal support.
