just had best shave ! i bought a fatboy through the Bay, sent it to a friend for total cleaning and check up. broke out the omega pro49, porasso green, put in a new voshkod blade and finished up with clubman special reserve......
Your friend looks like he did a "REALLY" nice clean up on your FatBoy. Is it gold or nickel? It looks gold in the pic(at least on my comp).
Actually he asked if I wanted to replate it, some of the nickel plating is worn off, I'm guessing due to its age ( it's an E1, my birth razor) and lots of use. I decided against it, mainly because I've spent way too much on our hobby already ( is that even possible lol) maybe in future I will have it done . I'm enjoying my daily use of her however . Thanks.
Oh, btw, that bowl is a simple salsa bowl from Wal-Mart....$1.50. Heard about it on an awesome podcast !
I've used those bowls, too. WalMart also has a nice Pfaltsgraff bowl for under $3 that's really nice. Brown inside, black outside.
Fatboy on 9 has become my favorite as well. Awesome shaves. I'm actually sending mine off to Captain Murphy over on B&B to clean it up and repair a lazy door. Since I don't really like it any lower than 9, he's also going to set it with custom blade gaps so my 6 will equal a normal 9.
