I was torn between Pat and Tony, now it is hands down PAT's after a revisit. Note: Tony's was closer too the ball park then Geno's and Pats but now Pats is in the ball park.
I'm out of this one. Nobody makes a traditional Philly Steak around here so I wouldn't know a good one if it bit in the a.. I'm open to recipes though. I need to season my cast iron some more.
Okay, now I feel truly deprived. My in-laws live about two hours from Philly and I have never had cheese steaks from any of those places! My education in cheese steaks is sorely lacking!
I've had 'em all bro. To be honest, I even enjoy a chicken cheeseteak (with or w/out buffalo sauce :drool :drool :drool
You can try to make a cheese steak but unless you use a roll from a Philly bakery made with actual unfiltered Philly "WOODER" there ain't no way it's gonna taste like the real thing.
Kind of like a top split hot dog bun for a lobster roll. It's not the same unless you use the right ingredients. I think a bread recipe search is in order.
cause I dont get out much.... I voted "Other". Only because I've never had any of these samwiches, yet.
Philly Cheese Steak on TV tonight Looking at the TV schedule for tonight, I noticed that, on the Food Network (9:30), the show "Road Tasted" is in Philly. One of the segments is Philly Cheese Steak at Campo's. Can't say I've ever had cheese steak (I know, I've been deprived, but all things considered, I've never been to Philadelphia) and I know nothing about Campo's, but thought I'd let you guys know in case you're interested.
