For the first time since, well ever, I am selling razors without the intent of replacing them with something different. With the exception of travel, I have only used another DE twice since the first of the year. That is pretty much unheard of for me. So now I'm gonna throw a monkey wrench opinion into the mix:

The Blackbird razor has ruined the hobby of collecting and trying new razors for me, because every last one of them, including my beloved ATT S2 now falls short of the bar. Thanks a lot, Shane. :)

From what I could tell from the early OC prototype I got to try out it will be worth getting. Great design that doesn't increase the aggressiveness.

I'm somewhat attached to Wolf Whiskers and M&F. Both somewhat difficult to come by and both worth the wait.

I am starting up a blade try-out with my Blackbird. I'll be going through some orphans first and then dive into some of my other boxes of blades. First up is the Dorco stainless ST300. First shave with is was not too smooth, but it did get the job done in 3 passes. We'll see if it smooths up in the next few shaves.

Wonderful 2-pass wtg/xtg shave this morning. The polished Blackbird is anAMAZING razor, paired it this morning with a new Feather Hi-stainless blade and it was one smooth shave. Also kudos to the Chiseled Face Cedar & Spice soap .. the performance is top notch as is the ingredients ( beef tallow, aloe vera juice, mango butter, avocado oil etc) and the fragrance is bad $$$ (meaning Very good LOL)

    ☆ HAVE A GREAT DAY ☆

Fantastic shave with the BB this morning, 3 pass felt like I could have done 5-6 and had no problems at all. Finding the sweet spot is automatic with the BB. Matching up a quality razor with a quality soap is very important and I did that this morning. Route 66 TBP is everything and some! I caught myself smelling the scuttle a little longer than normal :) TBP balm is on point.

I always thought the look was so distinctive, names were unnecessary.

The razor is instantly recognizable, and I don't think any other DE razor, with the exception of the Darwin Deluxe, has such a unique look.

I might have a different opinion if the wooden case mine came in were not so clearly labeled 'Blackland,' 'Blackbird,' and '2015.'

Those are nice boxes, and the razor fits perfectly. Almost like they were made for each other.

Automatic smooth as silk shave. The BB is very easy to maneuver around my face, much like the Gillette Aristocrat. RR One X is a top performance soap.

Gave the Personna one more go with the BB...no more thank you. The result was okay but the shave felt dangerous, first time I've had that feeling with the 'bird. You never know which combination works with each face.

I know it's a YMMV thing, but in a blind test, I can't tell the difference between the Lab Blues and Astra SP's, so my preference is going to go to the Astra's, due to price and appearance.

I wish these blades were still made. I'd buy them just for the name. I actually do have some of them, both single and double edge. For carbons, they weren't bad.

I like it a lot! Citrus and floral scent with a blast of menthol (not freezing) definitely worth giving a try.

Another great shave with the Blackland Blackbird. The RR boar is worth the $20 soft right out of the box. WSP makes good stuff, nice and slick lather.
