Thanks for nothing enablers. I just ordered one of those Turkish shaving bowls. :p

Edit: I ended up buying one of the copper bowls via eBay and received a quick response
from the buyer. After some corresponding I mentioned my member name on TSD. I was surprised to find out that he is @Burak Kucukler a member here on TSD. Tight knit group in the shave world.

If you have any Asian supermarkets nearby, check there, they very often have various bowls, sometimes some very attractive ones.

Sorry to hear you broke your bowl, I know the feeling!:(
That copper mug is nice looking, too bad bestshave doesn't sell a bowl without the handle. I use a SS bowl I got off ebay some years ago, because I dropped a wooden bowl and broke it. The ebay bowl is Chinese, inexpensive and the same dimensions as the VDH ceramic bowl. It works well and best of all I can't break it.:happy088:

And at the Asian market they carry insulated and non-insulated stainless bowls. Got a nice palm size insulated for $5. you can also peruse the ceramic noodle bowls.

In the end I chose this one. It's hand-made by AndersonPotteries (Etsy) and Christian is going to glaze the inside of the bowl, in a beautiful turquoise blue to contrast the creamy white exterior. It was £11.55, which seemed incredibly reasonable. I'll put another picture up when it comes, in a few weeks.
