Hmmmm. I always rinse with hot water after each pass, however after the hot water rinse on the last pass, I always rinse with cold water.
Cold water between passes never occurred to me until your post.
Looks like it’s one of those “I’m glad I thought of it” things

Actually, you don't even need hot water to get a great shave. Check out The Fellowship of Cold Water Shavers for refreshing, irritation free shaves. I do cold water shaves all year long now. I only use hot water to clean up my hardware.
