Are you referring to a chamber pot? I have one like this one that I had bought with intent to use as a mega shaving bowl, but decided I don't bowl shave very often, so now it just sit on the shelf.
Don’t listen to them cold water boys. . You need a teapot to boil water and a scuttle. Hot lather is a must for us that live in the cold north
And then there's those of us who occupy the middle ground. I love warm lather on my face. But I also love the feeling of the cold water rinse. So, I use hot tap water to work up my lather and if I'm using a scuttle, I'll have warm lather throughout the shave. But after each pass I will rinse off the residue with ice cold tap water. And repeat. The warm lather just feels so darn good. And the cold rinse also feels so darn good as it settles my face down after each subsequent pass. I found the hot water would actually seem to exacerbate any irritation. So. Warm lather. Cold rinse. Works for me.
Hmmmm. I always rinse with hot water after each pass, however after the hot water rinse on the last pass, I always rinse with cold water. Cold water between passes never occurred to me until your post. Looks like it’s one of those “I’m glad I thought of it” things
