I'm getting ready to order a Shavemac synthetic & I'll be emailing Bernd to ask for recommendations for loft. I'm doing a comparison this week between my Muhle silvertip synthetic & Simpson Duke 3 synthetic. So far I'm finding the Muhle more to my liking. The Muhle, IMHO, has softer tips & a little less backbone. I don't know if it's less backbone or seems that way because the Simpson is denser? The Simpson seems stiffer, for whatever reason. The Simpson also seems to hog a bit more lather. All in all, at this point I like the softer tips & slightly less backbone of the Muhle, along with it releasing the lather better.

Anyway, all that to say todays BOTD is the Simpson Duke 3 synthetic.
