thank you Patrick, same old stuff going on here, driving the regulars here nuts as usual....stay safe and sane..
I need a 9nien9 brush and would be willing to trade a MrEE anodized aluminum brush to make it worth your time!
Awesome! I got a shipment of parts for my Mill so I'll have a ton of new toys too. Really nice to hear from you Patrick!
For the 2 resin brushes I made I poured the resin into 1 time use 3D printed molds printed using "spiral vase mode". I suppose it's harder to pour a marbled blank but it makes a round blank.
Funny, I was just discussing this with my wife last night. She has a try limit of 2 maybe 3 before she gives up. I generally have 4 failures minimum when I try something new. It's getting better now but I have trashed a lot of stuff. We learn a lot from failure so you might as well fail fast so you can check those boxes off quickly.
I really like it! So close! You'll get there. You hand turners impress me. I memorize mechanical processes but you guys shape the wood with finesse. Very very cool.
I use a chunk of ABS pipe and wrap a fair amount Tuck tape around it. First couple wraps are sticky side out so that it will come off. Slide the 'tube' off and have a decent blank mold. Here's what it looks like when you cut the tape off. Not perfect, but more than acceptable: An awful pic, but you get the idea.
