I'm strongly considering the C&E Best Badger Small Brush, but a local retailer carries Muehle brushes. For a Muehle brush at a similar price point, am I gaining anything or should I just go with the C&E Brush?
The Muehle you linked looks to be a 'pure' badger, so the tips may be a bit harsher than the 'best' from C&E. That said, Muehle supplies Edwin-Jagger, who makes the brush for Crabtree-Evelyn, so may not be a lot of difference either way. Best of luck. J
For whatever reason, the C&E brush gets a LOT of good press (perfect starter brush...great little brush...don't leave home without it...etc.) while I see very little about the Muehle. Maybe that means something, maybe not, but since I prefer the more traditional look of the C&E, that would be my choice.
If your looking to mix it up, also in that price point would be the vulfix 849. http://www.classicshaving.com/catalog/item/800550/422298.htm I've been using it for about a year now and absolutely love it. Plus you can order a nice cream from classic shaving when you order your brush.
