I don't know if I can use a car polish to polish my DE.

I have an Amway Silicone Glaze car polish that I would like to use.

    Any suggestions?

Ah.. Then it shouldn't be use for a polishing agent at all.

My car would be damaged too.

Reducing the visible scratches is your desired effect. Wax will fill them in but must be reapplied as it gets worn away. Polish will erode the surface. The problem with using an abrasive polish is the thinness of the plating. If you polish off the last outer visible layer of metal, underneath may be brass. If the item is solid, aluminum, steel, stainless steel; starting with rough and working down to very fine works. So if you polish you need to use a very fine grit polish to avoid breaking through plating while leaving no naked eye scratches.
