After getting this blade as part of an eBay win in April or May of last year, I decided to try to save this blade from scale-rot death. As you might be able to see, the scales had shrunken over the decades to about a full inch shorter than their original length, and the blade was multicolored from razor leprosy But with some handsanding eventually the razor found its way to John (new member here) when we met up with some guys to talk razors in Chouteau earlier this year. John hand-fashioned these great handles for it (and took the photo): I honed and shaved with it last night - it still needs a little but it felt so nice to finally get a shave out of her after all this time Thanks John!
Without getting all corny, that was a really good thing. I wish I could afford to help more than I do, this great little community we have here, but there are some giants of benevolency that we all cohabitate with on this particular site.
It's hand-cut. I had the pleasure of watching John cut some stuff several months ago and he even made me try my hand at it. It's not impossible, but it's tedious and time consuming - and easy to break the jeweler's saws he uses this was me cutting out a tiny pendent thingymajig
Aye Jimbo, it does look great BUT it would look much, much, greater at my house Lee you still have my mailing address,, Right????
