Sorry to hear you're having problems. I haven't used Clubman shave cream, but I have used a variety of other shave creams. I suggest using twice as much product as you think you need and adding water slowly as you build the lather. I keep adding water until my lather has the consistency of yogurt and just begins to have a shiny appearance. If I overshoot the water, I just add a little more product. It's trial and error at first, but you'll soon dial in your own method for getting the type of lather you like.
