I tried the two cigars I bought : - Romeo y Julieta no 1 : mild with very pleasant aroma. It went out 2 times, I believe it was my fault. Enjoyed it with cognac. I had an awful aftertaste in my mouth for quite a while. - Aging Room Quattro F55 : very very good, medium , easy draw. To me it was less aromatic but I'm only a noob. It didn't went out at all. Enjoyed it with single malt and when that finished I switched to orange juice. The OJ was such a surprize to me, it opened the cigar flavor, very nice sensation. Seems I'll have a lot to experiment with, but I want to limit myself to one cigar/week.
I had a Nub madoro a couple weeks ago. I wasn't impressed. Made by Oliva. I know enough now to avoid Oliva's offerings. I just finished up a house cigar from a local B&M called My Smoking Dog. Not bad, but I'll still look for something else as a go-to.
I don't like maduros to begin with, but this one was the end of a sample pack. I like the Nub Habana torpedos for a little variety, but otherwise, I agree, the line doesn't have much special to it. Other than the torpedos, the nub line is just too big of ring gage for me too. For a good cheap smoke, I enjoy the "Genuine Counterfeit pre-embargo" 1958 Perfecto.
Not sure which one to smoke today ( 95% of these are Cuban. I rarely smoke anymore but I do open the door of the Humidor and sit back to smell the aroma
