    Kevin, as a history buff I respect what you did but would have to say your a better man than me. I would have had to have shaved with it at least once. Looks great, you made the right choice. Congrats.

    Oh believe me, Steve, I was tempted to give this old razor a good clean up & run on the hones. However, the delicate condition of the engraved scales (wherein lies the real historicity of this item) gave me pause and so I opted to not 'mess' with the overall condition of the razor. I have a couple other Wostenholm framebacks that I have shaved with from around that era so I'm familiar with the 'feel.' I decided some items are best left as is and not risk furthe possible deterioration.
