**CLOSED**Pass-Around: The Mother Of All Pass-Around Boxes(Formerly: Dare To Be One Of "The Chosen")

Well ladies and gents I ordered the 8 pack sample testers from ebay before I jump and purchase any of the Pinaud colognes, although after trying them all out I end up ordering 4 different ones and I passed on the other 4, here is my verdict:

***The LOVE ( these below are the chosen ones I ordered full bottles)***

- Clubman Pinaud Standard (very good classic,barbershop smell)
- Clubman Pinaud Vanilla ( crazy good classic,barbershop smell, the vanilla is so different but very hard to explain, maybe my fav of all 4)
- Clubman Pinaud Musk ( very good classic,barbershop smell, hard to explain the smell)
- Clubman Pinaud Special Reserve ( very good classic,barbershop smell. Was not sure at first because was right in your face smell like the Lilac, but after few minutes after applying it it comes along and smells great!)

*** The I STAYED RESERVED (not sure) = no ordering***

- Clubman Pinaud Citrus & Lime ( I put these 2 together because they are so similar to each other and the difference is minimal in scent, only color of the cologne I see different... Very powdery lime/citrus smell that gets much more pleasant after it wears off because it becomes much sweeter and less in your face scent, but yet not good enough for me to buy it because it wont see usage)

- Clubman Pinaud Bay rum ( When I sniffed it from the bottle my first reaction was, hell no I'm not wearing this junk because it smells like pure liquor AKA Rum!!! but then when you applied to your skin and give it few minutes to evaporate it gets so much sweeter and you have very sweet combo of bay rum and smoked Oak wood that's very pleasant, but yet I still wasn't 100% sure and I didn't pulled the trigger on it.

*** The I WAS SHOCKED***

- Clubman Pinaud Lilac Vegetal ( " WTF/WOW" I gave it a chance actually wearing it at home, lucky me I live alone and have no pets at home... Once when you apply it, good luck taking it off, even full body shower don't help, it still lingers with hours. This is typical for all the Pinaud colognes which it almost makes them like men perfume, its good sign because they seem to use high quality and natural oils from flovers, plants and herbs, only means they don't cheap out when it goes to making scent!!! way to go Pinaud, but now lets go back to the Lilac review.... It smells like a mixture of Lilies, vanilla and a very stron in your face PEE cakes.... WHY? not sure what herb oils have been used to get the PEE CAKE effect and I understand that makes scent very strong, but I think they over did it with the pee thingy hahaha... This might be good for an older men scent IF they tone down the PEE CAKE scent down to 60-70% then might be bearable, but as of now the Lilac Vegetal is great as: insect repelant, insta divorce/relationships buster, got friends you don't like but you don't know how to avoid? no problem Pinaud Lilac Vegetal got Ya!!! I forgot to mention that this mofo actually gave me headaches, 3 times in a row.... The third time I gave it a chance first I got headaches, then I felt little sick to my stomach, then I run to take shower and still couldn't got rid of it.....

 

Too bad you weren't Chosen. It is definitely a polarizing scent.

I used the vintage Wilkinson blade in this morning's shave. I really liked it! It was sharp, smooth, and forgiving. No nicks or weepers and no irritation. That was the first time I've used a vintage blade and I was impressed!

It was paired with a Maggard V2 open comb head on a Maggard MR1 handle. Thanks @DaltonGang for including those blades in the pass-around!

I should be able to get everything boxed up and sent on to @Morman Bridge tomorrow. I've really enjoyed getting a chance to try THE VEG and to discover that I'm among the chosen.

That is a very typical, normal reaction to the Veg. Those who like it are atypical aka crazy.

I don't think those that like it are crazy, i just couldn't deal with it at all

 

As has been pointed out by others(possibly myself too), there can be a few reasons for the smell.
1. Your body chemistry combines with "The Veg" and emits the scent. Be it good or bad.
2. "The Veg" is a mystical potion that is telling of your true personality. I like this one. I guess I'm a flowery Hampster cage, that needs cleaning.
Any other explanations welcome.

 

The Veg on me seems to dry down to a faint, powdery scent. It smells fresh and clean, quite reminiscent of baby powder. My scent vocabulary is quite limited but I certainly don't get the noxious fumes of cat urine and the other horrible descriptions of some others. I guess I'm lucky to have been chosen!

Urinal Puck was my first reaction too. Better than cat pee, which is also a common comparison.

 

The Veg is on the move to @Morman Bridge! Expected arrival is Thursday. Thank you to @DaltonGang and @hrairy for getting it to me. I really enjoyed trying it out.

 

I am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Thanks for this opportunity.

 

I got a sample of Pinaud clubman classic just enough for about 2 shaves and the first time I used it my wife said it smelled like mothballs and a funeral parlor flower smell . She insisted that I didn't need to use that clubman classic again . That being said I doubt if I will be among the chosen by the Veg so I'll just sit here reading what everyone else says about the Veg good luck all

Though they might be considered distant cousins, Clubman Classic and Lilac Vegetal are quite different scentwise.
