My autostrop has plenty of nooks n crannies for that white sludge to form...

It'll go into the ultrasonic when I get home.
I'm getting really darn good at this whole SE shaving deal.
ALSO I've been using a clubmans styptic pencil to see if I'll like an alum block.
    I LIKE IT!

So I didn't end up needing to ultrasonic it..

Good old VDH cleans the razor as you use it!

I'm using the Bigelow cream because it's all I can find locally. What's the best way to get a good lather with it in a bowl?

    Bowl, I wouldnt know.

I usually get my brush nice n soaked, give it a shake or two...then put a dab of Bigelow on it.

I wet my face, then spread it around in 3 or 4 places on my face, then I get to lathering.

About the same concept on your face but just using a bowl. Put about a nickel size in your bowl and then make sure your brush has adiquet water and lather till creamie, sometimes you have to add a few droplets of water if your brush wasn't wet enough. Also some people like there lather thicker or thinner than others. But it just comes down to how much water you add to fine tune the lather to your liking!

C.O. Bigelow is my favorite cream so far. I bowl lather and find it very easy to get a great lather using this technique.
