    Good idea Eric.

Here is another question. How does one stop a puck of soap from turning with the brush in the mug. In other words when I try to build lather the puck just turns with the brush. I tried holding one end of the soap with my finger so it would not turn and got good lather that way. I have heard of people melting their soap so it stays put. If you melt, what is your process?

Don't melt Tabac! I never tried it, but I'll assume it'll turn brown and get burned like other non-glycerin soaps I've tried. ;) If you wet the soap puck and stick it in the dish, it should dry in one place and not move around. Tabac is also soft enough that you could just push down on the soap and meld it to fit the bowl.

+1. I tried melting a puck of Williams in the microwave some time ago and filled my kitchen with absolutely vile odours. :signs113I stopped before the soap got ruined, though.

All my soap pucks have stuck to the bottom whatever I put them in after they have been used...

Used a dollar store mug for the job, darn thing had sides which were to tall, had to put my whole hand into the mug above the wrist to get anything out of it.:angry019

Any mug would really work for me. Only gets used for soaking my brush.

Yes dont melt tabac...the only soaps you melt are glycerin soaps

you can grate it with a cheese grater and press it into the bowl...that is what i did cuz i bought just the refil and put it into a tupper ware container...then i just load the brush then move to my scuttle.

If you are gonna keep the soap in the tabac bowl which it should be shaped to fit...create a little lather and put some on the bottom of the bowl then push the soap down on it and the lather will dry and it should 'glue' down the puck...

To clear up. The Tabac soap after use formed to the bowl and was not a problem. I had this issue with a new unused puck of soap. Thanks for the advice everyone. I am a newbie and did not realize that the soap had to be "broken in" to stay still in the bowl. In fact the soap that would not stay still in the bowl yesterday, is now firmly cemented to the bowl today.:ashamed001

  9. I got a cappucino mug from Bed Bath and Beyond for like 4 bucks, works a dream. I'm eyeing a scuttle, but I don't wanna spend the money :-p
