From left to right. 1) Gillette Aristocrat Jr. 1949 (England flat base) 2) Gillette Rocket Super Speed type W1 1951 (England diamond base) 3) Gillette SS rocket 1950 (U.S.A. diamond base) These are all on the efficient side but not necessarily aggressive if handled correctly. They are more efficient than a red tip from my experience. The English A.Jr. with the flat base shaves differently from the other two even vs the English built rocket. The diamond base versions shave similarity although made in different countries.
From Top to Bottom 1) Gillette Aristocrat Jr. 1949 (England flat base) 66g 2) Gillette Rocket Super Speed type W1 1951 (England diamond base) 54g 3) Gillette SS rocket 1950 (U.S.A. diamond base) 54g Included Red Tip and Weishi for blade gab comparisons.
Nice lineup. How would you rate the shaves in order of smoothness and aggressiveness? I'm interested as I have two British 40s style rockets, on 54g and the other 72g and find the 54 gram smoother than the 73 gram and my red tip.
My fav has to be the Aristocrat Jr. Followed by the Red Tip, 51 W1, U.S. SS Rocket and Weishi last (travel razor)
