Very tempting but Darto accidentally sent me this order twice, and told me to keep it.

Cool. Just for reference....those are the N.27 and N.35 correct (along with the free keychains)?

    Correct.

The free keychains are quite small. When I opened the box, I said "why are all these bottlecaps in here?"

No clue what to do with them other than measuring spoons (1/2 teaspoons).

    Fried quail eggs with them?

    Maybe some hummingbird eggs...........

Shaving soap scoops? Have 'TSD' engraved on them?

And pretty sweet they sent you the same order twice, didn't charge for it and told you to keep it!

Cheesy cabbage and Polish sausage cooked up in the Smithey. Darn tasty lunch.

I took a second try at a biscuit recipe I saw on the Lodge Cast Iron site. The recipe is for buttermilk biscuits baked in a skillet. Good idea in principle, but the recipe didn’t work as written- too small a pan, too much liquid for the amount of flour & baking time was to short.

I reduced the liquids by a third, used a 10” skillet instead of the recommended 8” and added 5 minutes to the baking time.

Having done all of that, I got some nice biscuits. Since the pan was already hot, I scrambled up some eggs & had lunch.

Korean style scallion pancake done in my 10" Lodge with a swig or two of blueberry water kefir to wash it down.

A little self enabling. I picked up a 10.5" Stargazer cast iron skillet to put to work alongside the 12" Smithey.

Very cool. I must hear about the frying pan throw down an who wins.

    Thanks, Bill.
I'm oven seasoning the Stargazer and decided to throw the Smithey in too. For the heck of it I compared the heat retention. The Smithey being thicker and heavier wins that battle by a longshot, other than that it'll probably be technique trumps tools. The Smithey doesn't do anything better than my Lodge did.

The Stargazers are made about 20 minutes from my house. Very nice looking pan. Congrats.

Leftover tri-tip and cheese scramble for the Stargazers first cook. A couple of bits that wouldn't wipe out with a paper towel. Impressive first outing.

Made pizza from leftover fajitas. Salsa instead of marinara and cheddar in place of mozzarella. Served with pico, guacamole and sour cream.

We picked up a bushel of fresh roasted green chilies today. My favorite way to sample is wrapping in a tortilla with garlic, salt and butter.

Almond flour tortillas made with cast iron press and Stargazer skillet.

Carbon Steel deep dish pizza pan, 22 inch given to us as a wedding gift 25 years ago. 450 degrees in the Big Green Egg, first time using the @jluc recommended Fathead dough recipe. I probably pulled it 5-7 minutes early, dough slightly moist still. Got a thumbs up though from wifey and kids. We will do this again!
