Challenge accepted! I had to dig through our potholder drawer to find the silicone one. The leather ones are a bit more fitting the CI.
I tried the silicone pan handle guard. It fit so poorly, I sent it back. I got a leather one that fits well. Those are pretty fancy @battle.munky Where did you get them?
Thanks ma'am, I made them. There was no way I was going to pay $75 for a knife sheath about 8 years ago...many, many, many knife sheathes worth of $ later, I have a leather shop/hobby/plan for retirement. Coincidentally, I also have several knife sheaths now too. I'm not the best at tooling leather yet but my build quality and workmanship is pretty good at this point, at least far better than most store bought stuff.
My new Darto Carbon Steel pans. A bit rough looking in the beginning but they clean up nice. Yes, I know my stove isn't level. we're still working on the kitchen remodel a bit.
New recipe tonight Scottish Meat Pie in a 6" Lodge Skillet Never tried this type of crust before “Boiled Water Crust” Pretty darn easy, pretty darn light and flaky... I sorta followed this recipe using some London Broil I had on hand
I've never had the guts to make our Fathead pizza dough without parchment paper underneath, until today that is. Fathead dough is some sticky stuff. Spread the dough on a lightly oiled preheated cast iron pizza pan. Worked wonderfully. The most crisp crust I've made yet and didn't stick a bit. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I was visiting my mom today. She found a 12” cast iron skillet buried in a closet. It had a bit of rust, but it wasn’t encrusted with it. So I scrubbed it a bit with a dry plastic scouring pad, washed & dried it and then reseasoned it on the stove. A bit later, we used it to cook up some sausage patties. When I cleaned & oiled it afterward, it was like a new pan. I wish I had taken before & after pics.
Thanks for the heads up Dale! Tempted for sure, although wifey and have a pretty complete set of Lodge cast iron…..and little room left until one of our kiddos moves out and possibly wants the cast iron. I think you and @Queen of Blades may have enabled wifey and I though! And @jluc, oh my…..that pizza looks like awesomeness. I’ll be trying that Fathead dough recipe for some pizza on the BGE next week.
I've tried a couple of other low carb pizza crust recipes. Fathead is by far the best and closest to a traditional pizza crust of the ones I've tried. If only I could find a convincing substitute for French fries. Sent from my SM-T290 using Tapatalk
If there is such a substitute, please fill me in when you find it! Full blown keto is hard….wifey and kids aren’t into it (wifey is more than the kids). I love the menu items though. I’ve been pretty darn good with it this summer.. Five Guys French Fries, and wifey’s birthday last week kind of kicked the steam out of my progress. Luckily, Five Guys is about a once every 2-3 month thing, and our birthdays are spread out across the August to January. Back on the subject…..tomorrow is my day for cooking. I’m thinking Smash Burgers on the griddle (no buns on mine), broccoli and cauliflower in the 12” Lodge skillet.
